Good to see Ed Diaz doing great with Roland. He’s from music department of University of Texas at Arlington. I used to saw him in Jazz Combo with couple of my friends playing for recital. I was studying music during that time Ed was there too 1997.
Yes, V-STAGE has SCENE remain. Which means you can hold one SCENE and switch to another without any interruption in the sound. This is the first time this has been available using the V-PIANO engine. 🙌🏽
@@EdDiazKeysUnfortunately, Hammond organ playing is different from pipe organ. The keyboard action is also very different. Waterfall action is not the best for playing pipe organ. I am always surprised that “organ” means “Hammond or other electronic organ” for most reviewers.
That's what I love about my VR-760: a super light waterfall action with an adjustable trigger point (two settings, but all the difference in the world.)
and the wah its adjustable? so.. I mean if I put a way over a E.piano, and I just press a few keys and hold them.. the way will be open and close atomaticly as an auto was?. it will be great because in the VR-09B it is just a simple master effect without automatic open and close movement. just buy pressing and release the keys it do a normal way effect.
It’s sounds very thuddy if that makes since lol, I turned in my Roland Rd88 because the piano sound sound like it was thumping when I press the keys and this sounds the same
The keyboard is great, great, But I will never buy it for one reason, in the electric piano section it is impossible to connect two sounds, only one sound. They put two layers only in the synth section. This is sad guys.
Once again proving that Roland is only capable of copying other people’s stuff. They can’t even copy their own analog keyboards without screwing it up.
I think you’ll have to give it a try. Remember that with the V-Piano you have the option of making your own custom piano with numerous parameters available.
@@EdDiazKeys I tried the original V-Piano back in 2010 at GC in Boston. There was always a nasty frequency around the 2KHz-4KHz range that I could never get rid of no matter what I did with creating a custom piano. There's also a warmth in the low-mid range that was missing, something other manufacturers managed to capture beautifully. I also had an RD-88 EX for about a day, that I needed to exchange because the PHA-4 was incredibly fatiguing to play, and since my carpal tunnel surgery back in 2018, my hands haven't been the same since, so any hammer/weighted action needs to be as light as I can get. Other than Yamaha's GEX action in the Montage M8X, the only other keybed I felt at home with was my RD-1000, which sadly passed away last year. :(
@@Bruce.-WayneI feel that for Roland, we’ve done sampled instruments, and although very good, Modeling instruments is the next step in the evolution of instrumental recreation. With samples you create essentially a snapshot of an instrument with a specific sound, but limited parameter options. With Modeling such as V-Piano and ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) synth we model the components of the sound. This gives the user the ability customize many aspects of their instrument’s sound without the limitations of sampling.
So, 128 scenes. That's 128 songs. Nord has 500, so I have 400 songs and you pull in / mix 40 for a gig, job done. Major flaw. Not sure how you split, how many, where, and what you can do on each. Another flaw. Oh dear...

Ever serious musicians dream job, shilling for a megacorp. 😂
Wow!!! That’s a blast from the past!!!
thanks for the wonderful demo Ed!
Thank you sir!!!
When you do the demonstration....that demonstration is precision perfected.
Nord has really set a trend!
Yep, it's a more affordable Nord Stage 4 with nice Roland touches. I would love to hear them side by side.
Does the rotary on the organ emulate a Leslie when changing the speed? In other words, does it gradually change?
yes
@@kontraz3061 Thanks
Absolutely love it! What about the portamento, have they done anything for ease of access in that part of the board?
Great keyboard and great presentation, could you mention anything about seamless transitions of sounds when switching scenes, EX scene etc.

Ive a Vk-90 from the early 70's i love
@EdDiazKeys, great work! Do the drawbars send midi over 5 pin or USB? If we wanted to use them with say, B3-X, or VB3m, can we?
Does the 76 come with a high trigger point for organ playing?
It’s a waterfall keyboard action, so it feels great playing organ.

It looks indeed like an awesome and intuitive board. Would it be possible to import one‘s sample via Roland Cloud ? Or no sample playback at all ?
I hope these new sounds will be available for Fantom EX soon. 🤔
Salut Ed, ça fait plaisir de te revoir... Bel instrument, mais je crois que je peux en faire autant (même plus) avec mon Fantom 8 EX...
We were supposed to get advances tutorials for the Fantom! What happend?
This wood glued to the side made the Roland Stage very beautiful, no one thinks it's a Nord Stage😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nob
😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thats probably modeled hammer noise which would be heard on a real pisno. You can edut this on the V-Stage
@ nah I have a real grand piano doesn’t sound like that at all
Oh man it’s a nice machine but y no envelop for the Filter 😮 so so sad 😞😞 at least like the basic one u have for the Amp..
PHA-4 on a $4k keyboard is criminal.
Nord stage 4 killer
no way, I'm not saying Nord is perfect but this one sounds like plastic
@ relax just kidding im a big fan of nord stage 4, i have a stage 3 here hehehhee
@ ua-cam.com/video/Q408L7fmGtY/v-deo.htmlsi=2by9JX7McAiVj8PR
What?....that's an insult to Nord....😅
@ jist kidding, 🤭
What is the boot time?
What is the price? 😮
UK dealer advertising the 88 note model at £3450
@ thank you!
you might as well by the fantom ex
Is it same PHA-50 keybed?
The V-Stage 88 uses a PHA-4 action
Hopefully its gonna be cheaper than a Nord. Otherwise Nord will stay as the main option
It’s $3999
@@zay_keyz...wow, so that's $200 short of a Fantom 8 EX
Technically, a "bite" of Fantom EX with limited functions & tones..
copy of NORD style synth?!?? ;)
Actually, Roland created this style back in 2003 which was the VR-760, which predates the model you mentioned.
@ I still love my VR-760. Got it used last year, with the SRX World and SRX Studio boards installed.
Only two grands and 2 uprights are a let down honestly

O piano é muito artificial pro meu gosto. Falta aquele corpo e ressonância de um piano de verdade.
ROLAND/NORD 😅😅😅
I'd be all in if the pianos didn't sound so artificial, and the hammer action wasn't so fatiguing.
Yeah, thats a deal breaker for some folks because Roland is still using the Modeled piano sound across their boards....

Roland's Nord Stage competitor...
Yes, and a competitor for the Yamaha Stage Keyboards.
Competitor?....I'd say hardly....Nord fans are die hard fans of Nord's Sampled piano sounds....
Strange clacking sound ?
I think that's some of the physical modeling in the acoustic piano. V-Stage has piano designer like the HP and LX series pianos.
....is there a reason why Roland keep staying away from "Sampled" pianos?

No, the Roland V-STAGE has 512 SCENES.
@ why say 128 then?
It’s a nice thing - but you can’t blend 2 pianos, or 3 synths by the look …
@@johnscott4693 In the demo, it is mentioned that you have 128 Scene CHAINS available. 512 Scenes, 128 Scene CHAINS (setlists).
