Here, Eroll's left hand sounds separate from his right and this should be impossible to play because of the polyrhythm that is apparent, but once again, he surprises us.
It is impossible to explain the range of emotions expressed by Erroll Garner in this piece Save it to say we are witnessing profound passion and joy and tenderness here. And his creativity is endless never repeating himself. Has to be one of his greatest efforts ever.
There are many, many more. 👍 One of my favorites: Michel Petrucciani ua-cam.com/video/zWmz5-NoFzk/v-deo.html Thelonious Monk: ua-cam.com/video/Kb9SXfvgikA/v-deo.html Caravan Playlist: ua-cam.com/video/mKF2qlzdwlY/v-deo.html
This track should have been on the original LP. At the start here, he sounds very modern. You'd think you're listening to Mcoy Tyner or someone like that for half a minute or so, and then the rocking swing starts up. But only Erroll can overlay and carry on both the crypto modern bits ( which mercifully he rarely over does ), maintain the melody and stoke the swing all at once.
amazing pianist what time he had .I wish i could go to hear him play.i was to young
It’s hard to believe he only had two hands❤
What a fantastic jazz pianist, no one can compare to this genius.

Strictly speaking I have had the original Concert by the Sea 65 years .
Strictly speaking it's awesome of you.
Me too. Since 1958. Still play it.
One word its sparkling, what an performer it was 1955.........thanks for your music !
Bass, drums, plus ten fingers on a piano - it is quite amazing isn't it? How can one mind drive the left hand and right hand so differently?
