Law & Order SVU's Aging Conundrum

Television is accustomed to replacing aging talent with younger people in order to have a chance at grabbing the most-coveted ratings in most markets. Law & Order WISELY sought to do this in Season 24, but the suits at NBC couldn't handle the (temporary) ratings' hit and went back to its bread and butter and, in so doing, destroyed any hope for the future by rebuilding the brand.
