This video is part of an 8-lecture series on distributed systems, given as part of the undergraduate computer science course at the University of Cambridge. It is preceded by an 8-lecture course on concurrent systems for which videos are not publicly available, but slides can be found on the course web page: www.cl.cam.ac.uk/teaching/212...
Woow what a gem I found! Living in this day and age is amazing and gorgeous, thank you so much for uploading!
You're not only a great author but also an amazing teacher. Thanks Martin.
I highly appreciate your efforts. Your videos are easy to follow and understand. :)
You're are an awesome teacher, thanks for making this public.
Thanks, this series helped me a lot.
Thank you for this excellent lecture!
The most helpful series
You are an inspiration for many of us @Martin
Hi Martin, You are an inspiration to many engineers. Thanks for posting these videos. When you get a chance, can you please think about doing an audiobook for your book designing the data-intensive application? It greatly helps slow readers like me, who are good listeners.
I believe an audiobook already exists! www.audible.com/pd/Designing-Data-Intensive-Applications-Audiobook/B08VLGDK32 I wasn't involved in the production and I haven't listened to it myself, but I heard from others that it's quite good.
@@kleppmann Martin it needs to be your soothing voice xo :)
It would be amazing if you could turn DDIA into a course just like this one 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Дуже круто, дякую!
You are the legendary already!
Thank you for saving my semester, since my teacher can't explain half the way you do :D
I wish I had such good lectures on my studies :)
Thank you for nice series
You are a hero!
DDIA is already the go-to book for any engineer who wants to learn about distributed systems.
thanks Dr. Martin
Мартин - красавчик!
Since first part of this course not available, could someone please mention prerequisites for the second part?
Hi! Could you please tell me where are the video letctures of the first part: concurrent systems ?
Wow. Thanks :)
True legend
Superb 👌👌
Hello Martin,
Can you please share the URLs to access Cloud Computing - Part 1 and 2 courses?
Legend begins here.
Hey Martin, any chance you'd post the first half of this course as well? I get that it isn't your _usual_ content, but it sounds cool :)
The first half of the course is given by a different lecturer, who has chosen not to make their videos public. The slides are available, though: www.cl.cam.ac.uk/teaching/2122/ConcDisSys/materials.html
@@kleppmann Could you cover those topics if you dont mind
absolute goat
Is the first half of the concurrent and distributed system available on youtube as well? I can't find any playlists that explains that topic

@@kleppmann ok,Thank you so much
Hi Martin,
You told that this is the second half. Is the first half available on anywhere? I couldnt find on your channel.
There's a whole playlist you can find it here ua-cam.com/play/PLeKd45zvjcDFUEv_ohr_HdUFe97RItdiB.html
@@bjc5316 Dude, I also know this playlist. This playlist covers second parts of the course, not first part. First part is about conccurency. This part is about distributed systems. The answer of my questions were already answered on another comments. fyi

where is the first part ?
nice
Great lectures. But where is the first part ?
Is there a chance for the first half🤞?
A different lecturer so probably not.
Got no luck finding the recordings but the slides can be found at www.cl.cam.ac.uk/teaching/2021/ConcDisSys/materials.html
do you have a summary or reference for this video??
This course provides a wonderful understanding of the distributed systems, which is a second-half of the course. Do we have any videos related to the first half. Which talks about concurrency operations like multithreading.
You my refer to this MIT course, which talk about this points(concurrency, multithreading) and distributed systems in general: ua-cam.com/video/cQP8WApzIQQ/v-deo.html
@@rofamohamed2398 that course is taught by Robert Morris.. the guy who engineered the first internet worm legend!
Where is the first part which deals with concurrency??
Could you put your patreon link in each comments or in your UA-cam "about" page ? Thanks :)
cool
What does tripos mean?
It's University of Cambridge terminology, meaning an undergraduate course, typically 3 or 4 years in length.
Debo aprender ingles ya!! xD
