I am not a jew. Was never really religious at all. But your words make me cry. Not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy. This one video made me feel like somebody understands me. That somebody was trying to figure out my problem before I had it. I need to investigate this more.

i study psycology in germny right now, and i am reading his books. Its sad that he passed away because he was a man with wisdom and enough knowlegde to fill another hundred books !
A truly saintly gentleman. He was a blessèd acquaintance of mine. Helped me a great deal. He may have departed a year ago, but my gratitude remains undiminished.
Baruch Dayan HaEmet. May his soul be bound in the bond of life. Rabbi Twerski passed away yesterday from Corona Virus. He was a light to the world, righteous and generous. One of my great memories is walking arm-in-arm with him home after a Friday night dinner at the JLE where he was the guest speaker. We had a fascinating conversation that night.
Best advice always miss rabbi twersky he was kind and brilliant he loved and helped anyone who was vexed in mind spirit soul or body he is sorely missed by all his readers and followers bless his family and those who preserved his teachings 🕎🙌🕎
Thank you Dr. Abraham Twerski, for the wonderful life experiences you shared and wonderful messages you left to the world in the form of books, many lives will find better answers in their life though your work you had left in this world. thank you for all you had contributed to this world; God bless you and Rest In Peace.
I love listening to him. Though in my country, i might be condemned if hearing for speech or preaching from other religion, but i think he's speaking is so wise and make sense. I would definetely listen to lot of his speaking!😊
I am a muslim and it's totally fine to listen some1 with alot of experience preach about life from another religios standpoint.... Just have some empathy.
To those people who are insisting that god is the only purpose, or that he's offending some other religion or atheists, please watch it again. He says god may be a purpose, which as a holy man he is of course going to feel. He only says 'may' though, and then goes on to discuss purpose broadly with a variety of ideas. He's being a wise thoughtful guy and so I'm astonished that people can manufacture any kind of offence from this. I'm a lifelong atheist and I think he's wholly right, and a wonderful human being.
P e ople find fault with everything and everybody. Thats bad because it narrows ypur svope of what it means to be a productive member of society. Evangelical christians have a particukarly narrow view of the world and it makes for a often lifeless belief system. Good to hear of a holy man who has something good to say.
I do wish trump could have had a good decent miral man to raise him instead of what he had. We would have had a decent leader. Instead a wicked im becile. If a bastard.
May my words be the ultimate respect of our relationship. Watched a video of the Rebbe and Rabbi Twerski. The Rebbe said “ when 2 mountains meet!” Wow , question is Rabbi Twerski related to the Alta Rebbe or Bal Shem Tov or both ? Think of that an unbroken chain of consciousness and Torah! Blown away
Thank Rabbi Dr. Twersky, you just helped me understand my purpose in life which is to help others have a better life. I won't go into detail about it but I will inform you of it soon once it is up and running.
i like this rabbi. he looks like the typical rabbi or rebbe; however, his language is quite approachable, simple and concise. there is also something or much humble about him. there's also the fact that his english doesnt have the expected strong yiddish or hebrew accent some of them have that somehow makes them a bit aloof.
Thank you sir. Yes and I think we have to be open to changes in our life's purpose, especially if we expect long lives, we are strong and creative individuals so our value is eternal...if we spend our lives well.
My purpose has become a mission to unveil this parallel world we live in. It is a dark and daunting task but by the Holy Grace of God I go forth each day.
Rabbi, please make a video about how one goes about finding their purpose. I've been been asking myself what is my purpose in life for the last 10 years, on and off to no avail.
Look for a channel called Jason Capital ... He has a video on finding your purpose ... Its far down the line so u might wanna just search for the vid itself
Your purpose is to find a way to love everything. To give up all judgment and be kind to others. Be selfless. If you can do that you will enjoy life :)
Hi Billy, I edit a philosophy magazine, and the consensus of contributors, atheist or theist who comment on this issues, seems to be that you find purpose by investing your life in something bigger than yourself. Do ehat to you is the most important cause that is beyond yourself? Eg environment, poverty, injustice, truth.... Try putting more of yourself into that for six months, and see where that gets you.
billsyd2004 He said it and your doing it. Search. No pot of gold at the end but your searches have to be apart of your story. I'm the same way, this was a gd video
but you are ornamental my friend...that beard...that name...it is quite amusing..comforting...familiar...like the ticking of a broken clock...i know you arent keeping time but i love you all the same.
It is very difficult to find the purpose in life. It is something I have been searching for since I became conscious about this topic, and the more I think about the more I cannot find it for any of us really. We live as long as we do, and then we just simply die. And the what? Those before us have died, those after us will die and so on and so forth. I feel like there is no really reasons for existence. For example, you study, you study to pass a test or to learn something. If you clean your house, you clean so that you can live in a nice environment where you would not get sick and where you would not feel uncomfortable because who likes to live in "dirty"? When you work, you work to make money. When you make money you buy a house, car , food, etc. So eveything we do, all these "little" tasks have SOME purposes but what is our main and most important purpose as humans? I can't seem to find the answer... And the fact that we will just simply die one day and that's it, nothing?! Oh no man, I can't deal with these thoughts...seriously 🤦♀️
I totally agree but i think it's also important too allow for deviation in some cases. If we have all people living with a purpose they may forget to explore outside that purpose and thus will go dumb and Become one track minded. 👍
I always reflect about his we need be more function in that world we live too much research about ornamental things .. I think the difficult is search the right thing .. I have a afraid live without purpose
I just feel that having a set purpose is restraining. If you can change it then what's the difference from a purpose to a goal or ambition? I don't have one and fail to see how that's bad. I have several and I fail to see how that's bad. I'm very content and happy, too.
I hurt because my parent's weren't involved and I lack autonomy in my life. I'm struggle financially and therefore, other people run my life.... My purpose.... Is to be...... Rich.... for freedom ( ._.)
the purpose of life is to serve g-d. pretty obvious when you think about it. All the modern technologies like TV, cell phones etc. numb our awareness of g-d. when you pray learn torah, and meditate the holiness of torah is very loud and clear,
Religion was created ,.or ends up being "to hold bondage." Grace makes and faith takes. A relationship with Christ Jesus keeps me from yoking with pride, prejudice and hate. I remember my father who acted as such he shared with me as a child there is but one authority, a loving God. Once I figured out God loved me first then it was and still is to love others outside of my comfort zone. All is Well.
What is my purpose in life, really? I want to travel the world and learn everything about it, but I don't have contributing to society in mind, so do I even have any worth? Or am I too selfish for it?
He's referring to an important concept in Judaism which is that the more you help a person or give them, the more you feel love for them, because you have invested of yourself (whom naturally you love) into that person. You can therefore create love within yourself for people to whom you had no previous feelings by giving to them. A proof for this is that God designed the words in Hebrew that mean "give" and "love" to have the same grammatical root "Hav” (give) and "Ahav" (love). It's based upon a teaching by Rabbi Eliyahu Dessler in his writings from the 1930s: www.aish.com/ci/s/The-Three-Greatest-Mistakes-People-Make-About-Love.html?mobile=yes
This 3 minute video has much more value than that one TED-talk.
Nice comparison. Very wise of you.

I'm lost for words how wise and calm he is.
He is that calm because he has much confidence in the truths he is sharing with us.
