Back in the 80’s and 90’s, after watching all these action/sci-fi movies, I would complete my fix by playing games that reminded me of those movies I finished watching. Never realizing those games were influenced from those very same movies. LoL
Alien Syndrome was awesome. I always loved the sci fi themed games. I never made it far in the arcade game though; I ran out of my dad’s quarters too quickly. Thanks for another great video, Patman.

I have this for Xbox 360, it was included in "Sonic's Genesis Collection" even though it's the arcade version and has nothing to do with Sonic. Fun stuff!

Ah man so many memories this game brings😇 Back in the day at the mall at my local arcade i played this game along the likes of Tiger Road, Black Tiger, Double Dragon & when i got hungry i just chow down some corndogs (inside the local arcade they also sell snaks so you can imagine the sounds of the arcades and while you played well😂 you got HUNGRY of the smells of corndogs, popcorn etc) those of you that lived in the magical 80's and got to be in the arcades of the mall i think that will remember... As always BIG👍👍THANKS for uploading these videos & hope that you are doing ok For me vodeogames are my escape so i hope that for you and everbody else if you need an escape then play videogames instead of drugs or alcohol... The X68000 was a really powerful piece of hardware that a lot of arcade games were developed on such as streetfighter 2 which is why they look so good on the platform. Thanks for the nice words

The Master System version was the one I played most, so I have lots of nostalgia for it. When I got the Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis collection that had the unlockable Alien Syndrome arcade on it, I was blown away by the arcade version. I never played the arcade, as it came out when I was in pre-school.

This is still one of my favourite games of all time. Never completed it but could get very far into it on the PC. I also playd the 2007 updated game with the same name on the Wii. Once you get used to the motion controlls It turned out to actually be a good gane.
I think this would make a great action movie if done correctly. The non stop action and bright, colorful, videogame aesthetic would actually contrast that of Ridley Scott's Alien movie which is known for it's very dark and forboding atmosphere

This is one of those games I vividly remember the first time I played it. It was Aladdin's Castle in West Town Mall in Knoxville, TN. It was around Christmas 1987. They had just gotten this and Xenophobe in on the exact same day. There was a huge crowd around Xenophobe, so I played Alien Syndrome. Immediately loved it.
I've been playing some of this thanks to my new Astro City Mini. Previously I'd only played the Master System game which I really enjoyed way back when.

Alien Syndrome was definitely a standout in the lot, I would have played the hell out of that version as a kid if only I or anyone I knew had a Master System. It takes me back to a certain time and place, but doesn't feel dated, if that makes any sense.
I agree, I never had a master system growing up although the graphics definitely raised my eyebrows. I always was jealous of their version of double Dragon because it was arcade accurate

If you wanna know how much quality the basic pc speaker was able to achieve, search for gameplay videos of an old adventure game called "Countdown", by Access Software. You'll probably be amazed (I was when I played it many years ago).

Never heard of countdown but I do recall main streets and the narc arcade ripoff Crime wave. Those actually sounded really good With their real sound technology

The Sega Ages PS2 remake was released in the US, on a collection of 9 Sega Ages games for the PS2 called "Sega Classics Collection."

But just a correction: the DOS version has no Soundblaster support. The sounds and digitized speech come from the PC speaker.

I don't think AS on the SMS supported the 3D glasses... are you thinking of Maze Hunter 3D?
