I am so pleased you did this case i live in county durham and the village i live in is where she lived at some point the house still stands! When me and mu friends were younger there was a chant that we used to sing that was supposed to bring the ghost of her to you! You are the second person i e known to cover this case thank you 💗

Honestly I think what makes Victorian women seem so much scarier is that they had so many fewer rights and were motivated to be more conniving and sly to achieve their crimes. I’m currently only at 1872 but my gosh This woman just didn’t stop… it’s terrifying. Thank goodness for modern day records, technology and medicine. It’s scary to think how these kinds of people will just keep going and going unless caught. So grateful that serial murderers are typically caught before they can become this feral now.
For some reason we had a hallway smoke detector go off and wake me from a good sleep. Things are safe but my body is still shaking. Leah will now help me breathe normally again.
Omg that's such a terrifying way to wake up. That's happened to me a couple times when the batteries have died and the alarm goes off, so I understand how shaken up that can leave people. 😩 Sorry that happened!💛
We call these openers "church keys" here in New Brunswick. In the Middle East you could buy gjnger beer in virtually every store. It seemed that the men drank it. Looking forward to the video!

Ginger beer over ginger ale - always! I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so excited by a drink 😂 obviously it’s amazing on its own, but as a cocktail you could go classic with Moscow Mule (vodka) or Dark’n’Stormy (rum), or mix it with gin and rhubarb (a modern classic in Britain!). Also, for snacking, dark chocolate covered crystallised ginger 😍
OMG dark chocolate covered ginger??? I need to try that lol. I love the idea of having the ginger beer with rhubarb. I don't think I've ever seen rhubarb juice or anything like that, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for some to try it. Thanks for the idea, Sally! 🤗
I’ve never seen rhubarb juice either - we just buy rhubarb gin 😊 But it’s easy to make your own if you can get fresh rhubarb! Put washed, chopped fresh rhubarb stalks and sugar in a lidded jar, shake it up and leave for 24 hours to draw out the juice. Then add gin, mix it and leave for a month. It’ll probably be good to drink on it’s own as a sipping spirit because of the sugar, or mix it with the ginger beer for an amazingly refreshing long drink 🍹
Ginger Beer is used in Bermuda’s drink, Dark N Stormy. They are delicious. You use dark rum. My favorite alcoholic drink! ❤ oh and get a cup warmer off of Amazon or something. Make sure you get timer for automatic shut off. ❤
Leah if you love ginger, have you tried green ginger wine ? You buy it in 75cl bottles to mix with whiskey, but you can drink it on its own. If ginger beer blew your mind, you better prepare for this - we over here in the UK have Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer! Bet you could get some shipped 😉
Side note - it is MENTAL that the later stages of this story occurred about 6mins drive from where I live AND my great grandparents came from a lineage of Nattress’ surname. I should do some digging into my family tree 😅

Have you ever read the short story "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1892)? I recommend, it's very good. Has nothing to do with this story, but the title reminded me of it, so I'm tossing it out there. Thanks and keep at best!
If you're from the UK (like I am!) or can stream it there is a tv how starring Joanne Froggartt called Dark Angel that is about Mary Ann Cotton. I highly recommend watching it, I watched it when it first came out and it's a really good drama. In addition, you was saying about her botched execution, you should see a movie (if you're interested) of the most famous executioner that was the best in Britain, called Pierrepoint (said as Pier - Point). He turned the act of execution and the process of execution into an "art" for a lack of a better word. Extremely good movie, very interesting man. The hanging scenes were actually filmed in my home town. Also, my great Uncle actually used to make the rope for executions, real executions not movie props (weird useless piece of info I know)

It’s very disheartening that there’s this unwritten rule that ASMR creators shouldn’t be compensated for the work that goes into their videos. Just like most people in the world right now, I’m worried about the cost of living, internet, bills, food, and everything else. When making these videos is a full time job, I need to be compensated just like any other job, and ads are the only way to be compensated for the work. UA-cam offers ‘Premium’ which offers ad free viewing, and still compensates creators, so there’s always that option. If people chose not to purchase premium however, I still need to be compensated. Otherwise, I can’t keep making videos for free. I really hope people can understand this 💛💛
@@LeahWhispersASMR Hello, I don’t believe ASMR creator’s shouldn’t be compensated for their work. If that’s what you took from my comment, apologies. ASMR is the primary reason I’m on UA-cam to begin with. They are fully aware of what ASMR is and the intentions behind watching it. They have ASMR Ad’s and recommend creators to those who watch it. To correct and expand on my original comment. I really don’t understand why UA-cam see’s ASMR and proceeds to put non-ASMR ads in the middle of the videos.
Oh I see! Yes, I'm aware of that and it's really disappointing how it doesn't always work. I've emailed them a couple of times about more options for ASMR creators - such as being able to choose ads, or even volume control, but all they replied back with was "Thanks for the suggestions." I hope as time goes on, the options get better or the system for matching improves 😩
This is really sad over all. Almost like a curse on this person, her family and everyone involved. That many miscarriages and still being able to have kids...life's a trip. Hey check out a story by Roald Dahl called the Landlady.

Ginger beer is fantastic by itself. If you want a really good alcoholic drink with it though, try it with bourbon.

When making these videos is a full time job, I need to be compensated just like any other job, and ads are the only way to be compensated for the work. UA-cam offers ‘Premium’ which offers ad free viewing, and still compensates creators, so there’s always that option. If people chose not to purchase premium however, I still need to be compensated. Otherwise, I can’t keep making videos for free. I really hope people can understand this 💛💛

I don’t believe ASMR creator’s shouldn’t be compensated for their work. If that’s what you took from my comment, apologies. ASMR is the primary reason I’m on UA-cam to begin with. They are fully aware of what ASMR is and the intentions behind watching it. They have ASMR Ad’s and recommend creators to those who watch it. To correct and expand on my original comment.
I really don’t understand why UA-cam see’s ASMR and proceeds to put non-ASMR ads in the middle of the videos.
Oh I see! Yes, I'm aware of that and it's really disappointing how it doesn't always work. I've emailed them a couple of times about more options for ASMR creators - such as being able to choose ads, or even volume control, but all they replied back with was "Thanks for the suggestions." I hope as time goes on, the options get better or the system for matching improves 😩
This is really sad over all. Almost like a curse on this person, her family and everyone involved. That many miscarriages and still being able to have kids...life's a trip.
