Alaina, the thing I enjoy and appreciate most about your videos is seeing how you actually USE your planners. So many content creators out there just show themselves decorating their planners but not how they use them, which I don't find helpful. The decorating is pretty, but not what I need for my planner. Your six planners do fry my brain a little bit, though, LOL. This is my first year ever trying an actual planner (up until now I've just been using a spiral-bound calendar and a to-do list), and even though it doesn't have nearly the amount of content/pages/categories in it that yours does, I'm still struggling to figure out how to actually make the best use of it. I don't care for all the redundancy of having to write/check off the same things over and over on different pages, so I'm trying to decide how to use it to avoid that while not letting things fall through the cracks. The redundant part does feel more secure in that way--when something is listed in so many areas, you're bound to see it at least once. But I feel like it creates extra work to have to list things multiple times, and I'm very much in a simplify-everything-phase. I'm hoping by the end of January I will have it mastered. My oldest daughter happened to buy the same exact planner I did for this year (she's been using planners for years), so she's been coming over to help me work my way through it. The one thing I wish my planner did have more of is something like your financial pages. Mine doesn't have the space or content type I need to really get on top of my finances, so I'm going to see if adding some sticker boxes to custom-make what I need will work. (Ha! A reason to decorate, I suppose. ;) ) Anyway, I do really appreciate your content and all the ideas you share, even if it feels overwhelming to me sometimes. On another topic, I'm sorry to see your comments section has been taken over by spammers. I tried reporting them, but YT kept hanging up, so hopefully someone else has reported them all for you. They're such a nuisance! Take care
I have 2 calendar spreads. The first is the tabbed EC one. That has most of the things that are happening on it. So, birthdays, holidays, events, zoom calls, paydays, appointments (including the vet), all that sort of thing. My 2nd calendar is for my writing. I see how many days I'm going to be available to write and put that number of days, number of chapters, planned number of words, etc off to the side. As I write, I highlight the date, so I can quickly count up how many days I actually wrote. And I mark down my other numbers, which could be word count or chapters or whatever. At the end of each week I tally that number to see if I'm on track to reach my goal for the month. There is some crossover. For example, if I'm going to be away over a long weekend I may not plan to write then, and the trip would be marked on both calendars. Same with holidays or birthdays.
