Exactly what in thinking. This was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. Can't believe people think a woman had her husband shove cake in her face and that's why she filed for divorce. This was probably the last straw in an already poor relationship.
Yes of course they do because she went to the news over it . Kinda shows her true colors instead of being like hey I didn’t like that she went to the news. 😂 I’m sorry to laugh but what is wrong with people these days . How stupid and what a waste of time but the news was happy to broadcast this . And her embarrass her child once he gets older and can watch this . Lord .
It’s like he embarrasses her in public and when she says something to him about it in private she looks crazy. He’s gaslighting her. Not healthy at all. He thinks he’s slick.
Or, she posted this because she can’t get his attention. Why blame her? She told him not to do it. He ignored her. People post such random stuff all the time. This one just happened to go viral. Then she answered questions. It’s not fun loving to ruin the cake she made for her son’s birthday. I don’t know a woman anywhere that would laugh that off. Women go to a lot of effort for their kids’ birthdays. Gotta think about that.
I attended the shortest marriage in history I think. Husband smashed wedding cake in brides face, all his buddies laughed. She walked out of reception and never returned. Found out she filed for annulment next business day. I thought it was an over reaction until I learned they had discussed this before the wedding. His buddies egged him on into doing it despite his promise to her he would not. So then I couldn’t blame her. Who wants a man who’s behavior is dictated to him by his drunk frat bro friends?
Man is only as good as his word. If his word is no good, he is no good! If he had already promised her he would not do that, there was a serious breach of trust there. It’s the principle that matters! Good for that woman for annulling the marriage. She saved herself lots of heartache and disappointment by doing so.
I mean, this is something you and your husband can deal with in private. The fact that you felt you had to share this with the whole world to show how "evil" your husband is and allow space for everyone to backbite and curse him out is really poor judgement on your part.
How is this news could have dealt with it in private and told him you didn't like the joke what's the point of sharing this online and doing a news interview about it this is why people get divorced cause they don't know how to communicate 🙄
...to leave him because of this stupid joke? Yes, it is childish behavior but he was not mean. Big deal... a cake on her face. He should apologize. She should forgive, and move on. Life is short and difficult. If everybody divorces over stupid jokes there will be no families. They need to raise a child.
I feel sorry for her, don’t know how traumatizing it was for her. Poor thing probably needs counseling. Her husband’s behavior is unacceptable and he should lose his job and reputation ruin for what he did.

I agree definitely not news worthy, but I’m on the side of mom here. She made clear she knew what he intended and told him not to. It shows the larger issue of him not having respect for her, and this was probably not the first time. I’m personally all for women putting their foot down when men think they can walk all over the women in their lives, especially once they think she’s stuck with him because of marriage/kids. They could have done much better framing it that way in this segment
This was a birthday party for her son. She had guests over. She most likely spent some time that day showering, washing and blow drying her hair, possibly flat iron too. She then spent time time putting make up on and spent time deciding what to wear. This kind of joke isn't fun y at all and it was disrespectful to his wife. She probably had to shower all over again to get the cake out of her hair. You think she really wanted to go through all that at her son's birthday? Husband is an ass

I've heard that smushing a cake into a partner's face is a death sentence for any relationship, when it comes to weddings. Looks like it applies to birthdays as well now.
Am I in the twilight zone? I thought this was a parody news story! This one story about getting a cake smashed in the face actually made the national news because her feelings were hurt? I’m silently weeping for future generations.
We only see a "glimpse" of the situation. Who really knows...this literally might have been the "icing on the cake" for her. I have a strong suspicion that this wasn't the first time he has embarrassed her in public. 😢 This would also explain why she reacted so strongly. We really don't know. ❤
I just wrote the same thing! This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. It took it a while to sink in that this wasn't a joke. When I saw the news anchor pop up the first time I started laughing😂 I thought it was another comedic layer...
This was just caught on video. He ruined his child's cake and disrespected his wife. I don't know if she should divorce him, but at minimum, he needs to reevaluate his behavior and apologize.
If it is then why go to the news about it and talk about it publically? Your relationship issues should be private and if they aren't, you don't respect the relationship. This is all on her.
It’s not because of a cake in her face. It’s because of his blatant disrespect towards her & disregard for her feelings & wishes to not have cake shoved in her face. He humiliated her.
Not only was that humiliating in front of family but the child is definitely analyzing the dynamics of the situation and, if humiliating mom happens again the child may think it is ok to disrespect women by the time he is grown and, possibly, his mother as well. Not ok. Also, baby has no cake now at his 1 year celebration! I wouldn't talk to my husband for a few days....separate if he does this again. Also. Unfortunately children imitate their parents. So impressionable. Poor mom! I'm sorry momma 😢
She was just waiting for an excuse to leave him, it wasn't about the cake at all. It's terrible she thought it was okay to share this with everybody for attention. Let this be a warning to her future partner.
Seriously! A simple conversation at the end of party would probably fix it if he is a good man. This women is awful I'm sure they have more issues she clearly is out for him it's sad/ toxic af
This is a red flag of an abuser. I am glad she is smart enough to see it. Abusers always do little things and try to make it seem like a joke , before they full on punch you in the face. First they embarrass/humiliate you , then they start full on abuse.
She deserves everything coming her way. It was a lighthearted joke. You can see the hate for him in her eyes. She is just wanting attention from strangers and to have everyone tell her to divorce him just so she can blame someone else if it works out bad for her. She is disgusting. What a horrible, horrible person. I pity her son more than anything else. Imagine, he still has 18 years of this to have in his life.
Exactly! I think she has some weird issue going on with the husband. I mean to make a moment of fun into such a big deal that a news have to cover it? If she was truly upset she would not have posted this. I think she is trying to gather sympathy and to demonise her husband.
@@creativefreedom9143 There's public and then there's nationwide lol. A bit excessive if you ask me. Calling him out on infront of family is one thing but this is sad. Feel bad or the kid.

What fun about being the laughing stock? What’s funny about manhandling a cake in your wife’s face? It’s humiliating and she had done her hair, clothes and make up for her son’s bday. He’s a man child. She should leave him for a real man
How nobody is talking about her giving death threats to her husband is beyond me, because of a cake shoved in your face, she had to threaten her husband’s life and it’s shameful a news station is supporting death threats
That may have been her attempt at humor but I would have edited the video and left out the smash and had a talk with my husband and moved on in life with a stern " don't do that again." My husband didn't do it at our wedding and we discussed it before the ceremony. I have been to weddings where I help the bride scoop cake out of her bra in the bathroom. So I knew I was not doing that at mine. Lol thankfully he was not even remotely into the idea.
Because a “reasonable person” wouldn’t think that was a serious death threat. That’s how the law works. I do however think she just wanted an excuse to leave and make him the villain.
@@kikik5266 I had the same conversation REPEATEDLY before my wedding! I told him if he did it, I was going to storm out and leave him standing there alone and awkward while everyone stared at him. I had warned him so much he was a little bit scared bringing the cake to my mouth to feed it to me lol.
This is something you might be mad about for the rest of the night and then you get over it. This is definitely not something that should make national news or should cause a divorce. It definitely doesn’t deserve the death threat she dished out.

My older cousin bought my child's 1st birthday smash cake. My kiddo didn't smash it or even put his hand's in it so my cousin thought it was a fantastic idea to shove my 1 yr old's face into the cake. I was beyond upset. She apologized but the damage was already done. The cake went up my kiddo's nose and closed off his mouth. I had to rush to get it off so he could breathe. In my heart, I believe she was punishing him for not smashing the cake she bought. I don't communicate with her anymore.
Oh my goodness 😢 who does that? You put the baby's hands in the cake for them, give them a little taste, why would she ever think that was ok to do to a baby? Definitely think you made the right decision cutting her out and glad your kiddo was ok 🙏
you have a stupid teen cousin.....Thts a baby , smash the cake to baby face will freak him out and give him a night mare, baby so fragile ....People so stupid, dont think !!!
Did you think that maybe she wasn't thinking that? Why not just talk to her about it instead of never talking to her again? That is just odd to me. Maybe you would do something like that if someone didn't eat the cake you bought them, but it doesn't mean she thinks like you. My first thought would have been that she was just being goofy, but apparently, you had an issue with her before this incident. You were probably jealous she bought the first cake.
@@audreymai2773 she definitely wasn't being jealous she was being protective and trusting her maternal instincts that God gave her. A red flag went off when an adult shoved a baby's face who is barely over an infant, into a cake blocking his airways. He could have choked. That's very dangerous and no one should even think of doing something cruel like that to a baby. So before you try to gaslight this mom for making the best decision for her baby, it is better to be safe than sorry. It's normally the people closest to the child who no one expects that end up abusing and killing them. If her gut told her something was off about that, it's good she listened.
My mom did something similar to this to me in front of several people (jerked my shirt up exposed my adult braless top half to a room full of their poker friends because someone popped off I wasn't wearing a bra under my tshirt which is 100% MY choice). She got her jollies bullying me. The more people around the merrier. Turns out she was a narcissist. I cried all the way home. We were estranged when she passed suddenly a year later because of this. They GET OFF treating people this way and LOVE DRAMA. I'd divorce the jerk. This is only the visible part of a volatile relationship.

Not that serious.
Man is only as good as his word. If his word is no good, he is no good! If he had already promised her he would not do that, there was a serious breach of trust there. He shouldn't have done it at all.. now go let your spouse at your kids next birthday party smash their cake in your face and then talk about it..
I think this woman made herself into the villain here. This wouldn’t have been something people even remembered in a week, but this lady had to go out of her way to get mad on social media and do an interview with a news publication instead of being mature and talking about the matter with her husband in private. I really hope the husband is doing okay, he seemed to just be acting goofy and took it a teeny bit too far, nothing serious.
I have a feeling there's a lot more leading up to this. If you think one little thing like her "fun" husband pushing a cake into her face on their son's birthday, not hers, her son's, is nothing... then maybe is. Si what is she really trying to say? He's obviously not just the fun guy

Maybe thats where the narcissism claim comes from lol

A husband who humiliates his wife in public is likely abusing her (metntally and, or Physically) behind closed doors.
Lmao it’s just playing around 😅 girl is too sensitive
That was the case for me.
Agree. My husband used to humiliate me in public. And he was totally emotionally vacant at home as a husband. He was really emotionally cruel. He was such a POS. And he left me with a baby and a toddler, completely ruined my life for a very long time. He’s on his 3rd marriage, and 3rd family! Kids with each wife. I don’t know why society and the courts let men get away with walking out on their family’s. It has to stop, it’s ruining the fabric of society and our childrens lives.
@@Scorpio72350 I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I'm glad you got away from him. Maybe he is an ASPD individual and doesn't process empathy like the rest of us. Not an easy experience and people who haven't been through that type of abuse can find it hard to understand. Wishing the best for you in life and sending some love your way.
A man who takes joy in humiliating his spouse in front of her friends and family is one who will start to belittle and berate you in private. If this ever happens again, leave.

It's probably already happened. My guess is that this guy has done things like this, as a joke of course, to his wife before this incident. To her, this was the last straw.

It’s not a joke. If a marriage isn’t rooted in mutual understanding and respect for one another love turns to resentment and ends in usually a messy divorce.

My (now ex) husband shoved an ice cream cone in my face when we were getting ready to leave an IKEA store. I had asked him to hold it for me while I put my coat on. While I had my arms in the coat and was not able to deflect it he smashed it right in the middle of my face. I was shocked. I noticed everyone around me was standing there-mouths agape and waiting for me to react. I didn’t know what to do. I cried,I was so ashamed and angry. He yelled at ME all the way out into the parking lot,in the car and on the way home. He said I “didn’t have a funny bone in my body”
It wasn’t just about the ice cream cone. I realized he had disrespected me and gaslighted me for YEARS. I can’t believe I put up with that behavior for the entire 35 years we were married.
