Recent top pianists are great and fastinating, but too much sophisticated. On the other hand, his play is full of nostalgic allure that many pianists in 40-50 years ago had had. In such a modern era, his playing is a sort of treasure. This is a genuine Chopin!!
This is really impressive and has the sense of genuine Chopin music that the others don’t have. For me the performance of other contestants sounds a bit too much and trying to show off techniques but here there is no needless decoration. Instead he is playing with truly beautiful sounds and control. Every note sounds clear and mind blowing.
I see your point, but his technique is not quite as good as some of the best in this session. It shows in his overall presentation. A little tentative here and there..
Beautiful, enchanting playing coming from a delicate heart. Superb technique and control. Lovely waltzes, simply made me sway. And one of my favorite Ballade performances in this competition. Bravo. ✨

Fantastyczny polonez. Fantastic Polonaise! The last one to play this Polonaise op.44 so well was Lucas Geniusas in 2010 and he won the prize for it. There was none half so good

Dear Sir / Madam: he's a great artist and plays with the true, genuine Chopin's Spirit, not just softy or quietly. This is something extremely difficult to achieve, that just a scarce number of pianist attain, unfortunately, and Regardless long Hours of practice...this artist displays uncommon skills that not always can be learnt.. By this token, he sounds absolutely outstanding and NOBLE with a Range of musical nuances, other contestants Will NEVER achieve in a thousand years, no Matter how many Hours they spend practicing.
Not Boring at all!! Arthur Rubinstein , would be proud of this artist performance...On the contrary, this is Chopin's soul and style.....what is really Boring, is just playing Safe, without passion in a Cold, meaningless mood...like many contestants, unfortunately did.

I feel like he's a mean balance of all the various skills required for an artist!
