this man was a great inspiration for me...he was a very fabulous man and a fabulous entertainer....i remember at one show with him and Palani Vaughn...when a kumu hula came in to watch our show...as the kumu hula sat in the front row....he began to make fun of my performance...Uncle Sol ...stood up...confronted the kumu hula....and kicked him out of the show room....he told me after...boy...you got it in you....these people have jealousy...dont let them put you down...keep up what you are doing....it is because of him and Aunty Genoa and others...that i am still here...mahalo e ke Akua....
Hello Frank. I hope you see this message. Sorry it took 8 years to notice your comment. I've been busy helping Pali Kaaihue with his stuff. I see you on his shows all the time nowadays. Time sure flies.---kawika
Sol is one of the golden seven. One of the few who realy could drive the national tricone steel guitar to its full potensial. A tone that many strive for but cant get these days. He won dancing contests in the 1920s. A big legend
Mahalo Nui for posting this! Not many people have the opportunity to experience the composers performing their own song. With this example, the translation that I've gotten is now finally making more sense to me! Haha! He is a rascal! And I say "is" because he is immortalized through his music.
wow!!!! WOW!!!! thank you so much for sharing this----such rare, charming, treasured footage of a Hawaiian legend! he had it all, and the animal sound effects too in the beginning, way cool! i am sharing this under my favorites for sure. much mahalo, love and light from Kauai rock!💜💜💜💜💜
@kawika96797 I'm wishin' I could. I love it. I think everyone who sings it instinctively knows how to compress the tongue twisting parts. I don't and I don't know when I will be able to.

Big Mahalos from the Bright family for posting this video. We have lost most of the footage and pictures from this time in our families history.
