  • I demonstrate turning a box roughed out from a green piece of Palo Santo Wood, Bulnesia sarmientoi, from Argentina. I use my new Carter and Sons 12 TPI thread chaser to chase the threads for the lid. Thanks Mike, I found the thread chasing interesting. No doubt you need to be awfully careful otherwise there could be tears! Cheers Russell

Yes, thread chasing can be a real tear-jerker if you're not careful!

Very nice. It must take a lot practice to get the technique to turn the threads.

It takes some practice to get proficient but I have had workshop participants successfully thread a box in a one day workshop.

Nice little box Mike. I couldn't tell, did you turn both boxes? Too bad about the chip out you got. I think the repair is pretty good though. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

Not yet. I have the 2d blank out and handy and it is the larger one. I should have used it first.

Why no burr on the scraper?

Hi Mike. Could you please provide me the information of the tape you use sticking small turnings instead of screws

Mike, this video has a ear-piercing whistle starting at 17 minutes. Ouch! Otherwise, thanks for sharing. I just purchased same thread chaser and am anxious to try it out.

I went back to listen and could not hear what you described. Sorry about that.
