Aries Swamsha Part One (Excerpt From Jyotish And Yogic Philosophy Course)

This the first part of a class on Aries based on a sutra by the Rishi Jaimini in his Upadesa Sutras. This may be the oldest or second oldest sutra on Aries that has survived into our modern era, and it is incredibly cryptic, as pretty much all of Jaimini Sutras is. The only other mention of Aries that may be older might be from the Yavana Jataka, which mainly describes the environment that Aries rules.

Another great video! Really useful info on what to avoid with the rat qualities, leave the pettiness behind and go after the inspired divine vision. That's where Aries can really shine. The sutra also brings to mind predator prey, chasing games, hunting and catching, and playful hunting.

Yes and Aries is a sign of hunting, and it also brings to mind the type of hierarchy or hierarchical thinking that naturally exists in nature with animals, and that Aries is also meant to work with. Aries is not one of those signs that is meant to be focused on everyone being equal and all, its more a sign of seeing that there are just some things that are better or higher than others, like Cats compared to rats...

In chinese zodiac, Rat is Sagg and Aries is 5th sign. In western, Leo is 5th
As an Aries myself, theres maybe one aspect of Leo that stands above in my preferece, and that is honor.
I am comfortable in any case, but i feel that leos carry themselves clearer in and out. more open, less hidden, knowing the game.

I agree about the honor thing. Theres also good and bad to that too...I notice Leos are often times that type of leader that just inherits a kingdom and carries a type of honor that can be false, if that sign is afflicted. They didnt really earn the honor maybe.
Whereas an Aries is often the true leader that created the kingdom in the first place, and really had the merit, but more of the benefits get passed down to the son who may be more of this ungrateful Leo archetype. Like what they say about trail blazers vs early adopters.
