The Sugar Bear lore seems to be ever evolving...
@@Flargo1 could be worse better to be an addict to sugar then drugs or something worse :/
I love how he just casually handles literally any situation.
He can never get enough.
hes like, the chillest guy in history.
never once breaking his lax attitude. never once losing his charm.
you could probably cut off his arm and you'd only get very mild surprise from him
Can't get enough of that vague political commentary
Diabloid I was in the middle of the Game Grumps Mario Maker video when they started singing the sugar crisps song again so I decided to come check it out. I saw this comment and had no idea what you were talking about so I ignored it. Afterwards I went back to the Game Grumps video and continued to watch and I got to this part so I came all the way back here to like your comment. Lol
A journey that is best started with a nutritious breakfast with ten vitamins and minerals. Can't get enough of that sugar crisp, sugar crisp...
So, just to get it straight... if Sugar Bear tries to steal from you, he's a charming rogue. If you try to steal from him, though, you're the bad guy. Way of the world, I guess...
I never realized how many name changes this cereal went through. It went from Sugar Crisp, to Super Sugar Crisp, to Super Golden Crisp, to just Golden Crisp, then back to Sugar Crisp again, then back to Golden Crisp, and finally back to Sugar Crisp once more. I didn't remember it being called anything but Sugar Crisp, but now that I think of it, I do recall seeing the Golden Crisp boxes in the store. I don't remember seeing most of these commercials though, just the ones from around the late 90's.
I wonder if commercials like these are still being made? Something tells me that parents today don't like sugary cereal being marketed to their kids. Promotes obesity and all that. You definitely notice a shift away from the cereal giving Sugar Bear extra strength, first turning him briefly into the Hulk, becoming naked in the process for some inexplicable reason and getting his clothes back post-transformation, then basically turning him into Popeye. To say the marketing was misleading is an understatement. It's pretty hilarious to think that someone thought to take a cereal with "sugar" in the name and try to make it seem healthy.
The cereal never underwent any name changes in Canada, which is why the commercials still call it Sugar Crisp, it's still called Golden Crisp in the US
"Is that a panzer tank?!"
"You know it is Granny!"
1:00 90s intensify
was about to say that. can't have 90's without an unnecessary rap segment
@@JoIsAwesome Honestly, the Canadian factory/truck commercials were even more '90's than the rap commercial was.
It is still called Sugar Crisp in Canada with the same slogan and Sugar Bear

There’s something so soothing about the old gritty tv noises mixed with the noises. Makes you just wanna sleep to it.

Question is, why is Sugar Bear’s likeness on the box if he’s not allowed to have Sugar Crisp?

0:30 Post Super Golden Crisp Cereal Ad- Jack and the Beanstalk (1991)
SO THEY GO FROM SUGAR TO GOLDEN BACK TO SUGAR CRISP
+BIG JAY No they're sold as Golden Crisps in the United States, and in Canada they're sold as Sugar Crisps.
Only in Canada is it called "Sugar Crisp". Some of these ads are Canadian.
postfoods.ca/our-brands/sugar-crisp
SUGAR CRISP became GOLDEN CRISP in 1985 in the US, and remains that here to this day.
In Canada, though, the name never changed. The SUGAR CRISP ads in this video are from that land.
Hope this helps.
5:13 Love the music in this one 👍 🎶

Ah, the 90's iteration of cereal mascots where they're too cool. To the EXTREME!!!
That sugar bear is going to get diabetes if he keeps eating all that sugar crisp cereal
well technically he's a cartoon so I highly doubt that unless in one commericial they had a doctor saying sugar bear if you dont stop eating those irresitable sugar crisps you get diabetes sugar bear face: :/
I need to know the voice actor who played Sugar bear, his voice is as smooth as the honey that coats sugar crisp
Why is sugar bears voice so calm.
That crazy Sugar Bear's always one step ahead of his opponents.

Wow. I wonder if any of these were influenced by the 90's.
These commercials are pretty fun but in my opinion they can’t beat the charm of the original commercials
Sugar Bear
You have been filed for third degree robbery, attempted assault of a senior, attempted assault of a minor and 4 counts of theft. How do you plea?
Sugar Bear: well granny, I'm just too guilty to get enough of that sugar crisps
You're sentenced to life.
Yo i still got that christmas ornament!

The 1st ad seems more like a Frosted Flakes ad.

... is it just me... or were the commercials prior to the 90s more culturally sensitive than the ones in the 90s?
Doesn't it usually go the other direction with television?
Chris Jericho should do what John Cena did to Fred Flintstone, replace Sugar Bear and endorse Golden Crisp because of the Jericho jingle
Guess I forgot to put the fog lights in
He’s 😊 at getting Sugar Crisp but the 🐰 can’t get Trix!
Where is Tiny Tina?!? For the love of god why can't I find this commercial?!

0:45 Giga Bowser: Fee Fi Fo Fum, That Looks Good and I Want Some! >:(
That's it, I thi-...I think I've had enough...
It's heartening that the same guy did the voice of Sugar Bear for 40 years.
It's the role Gerry Matthews was born to play.
I thought it was Maurice (Hugh Tasmanian Devil) Lamarche.
Derik Penman He probably took over.
Yeah, I wouldn't figure he voiced him anytime before 87.
Derik Penman He might have also done it just for the Canadian market as well.
