We are really loving it here and the sound of the train horns, bells, and whistles never gets old. Mind you, it's still early in the season! LOL - ask me in September if I feel the same way. :-)
It's amazing how our childhood experiences can influence our feelings in adulthood. I haven't had any negative train experiences, thankfully, but would love to be able to do a trip on one. I vaguely remember something about going on a train excursion somewhere in Saskatchewan or Alberta as a kid- Fort Steele, I think. My dad lived trains so we always visited locations that featured them! Thanks for sharing your experience! Made me smile.
That is a neat connection since the Steele Scouts (Sam Steele of Fort Steele, BC etc) are the ones featured on our video! Here's a bunch of info on that guy... apparently a pillar of Canadian History! www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/sam-steele It always makes me smile when our videos remind you of your Dad... he was one cool guy!
Love train rides! That looks super cool!! I have motion sickness, so I know how you feel, I can't ride backwards either!! We did the train ride at the grand canyon, it was fun, we also had a train robber! Lol! Great video!>Sue
Hey! I inspected those tracks when it was the CPR Lomond Subdivision before being sold to the shortline excursion train operator. How often does the train operate? Are the elevators at Mossbank still used?
Wow, that is really cool! You're a piece of the history here. The train runs pretty much once a day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. They also do big events for Halloween and Christmas. I don't think the original grain elevators are used, but Aspen Crossing owns two of them and they are restoring one so they can use it as a historical model. If you plan to come out this way sometime this season, let us know and we'll plan to do the train together.
Love trains, awesome video. Road Amtrak back in the 60s, Omaha, Denver, and Chicago routes. No robbers thou, 😂😂
LOL - glad to hear there were no robbers on those trains! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. 😊
Loved being a part of the exciting train ride ! Great location for your work this summer with the train nearby.

So exciting! Besides the kiddie trains at amusement parks, we’ve ridden trains in Europe. That was amazing.
Trains in Europe sounds very romantic and mysterious! Great memories, I'm sure.

Thanks so much!! Love you guys, too!!
Looking forward to our train excursion when we get there.
