"I've seen this film before but didn't like the ending" Indeed. Lan zhan knew what is going to happen with Wei ying because of that amulet and dark magic. He tried his best to change that but unfortunately failed which left his heart broken with a lifetime regret.😢
Eventhough everyone say that Lan Zhan waited for Wei ying 13 years but how can you say he waited? He knew he wouldn't come back from the death cause he choose it for himself. Lan zhan inquired just to know if his wei ying is finally at peace or not. Maybe he wanted to confess. More than waiting he did was longing for his love. He regretted his every memory that he didn't stand beside wei ying. He was punishing himself for not trusting his soulmate.
