Man that just brought back some awesome memories I played that machine when it first came out and its the last time I ever played pinball it was at a movie theatre in Waterford Michigan ,the longer you play that machine or the more points you get the more it talks and makes noise I played it so long I tripled the high score on it at least and it was making noise's nobody had heard yet at one point I caught the ball on the flipper to rest my hands and my girlfriend said look behind you when I did everyone in the place was looking at me and the machine they couldn't believe what the were hearing. Man I miss those days. Thanks for posting this. T*Rex.
You're welcome ;) But be carefull if you wanna change your actual sound board by the sound speech board you need 4 things : - The sound speech board WITH SC01 circuit - The sound speech power supply board (A7). Without this card you will burn your sound speech board ! - US sound eprom (with speech) : 668-S1 and 668-S2 - US SPU eprom : 668/4
I always felt like getting multiball in this table was like a nuclear launch code. It's great none the less and once you get multiball you feel as though you accomplished something! I'd personally say that this is one of my top 5 tables.
I used to high score this when I was a teen....got 15 credits and sold them-to get high score you needed to tilt at 975000 or it would tick over.Spent hours on this one!
There is something with pinball in general but now,...... when I saw this legend I remember how I felt... I would still prefer to have this, over any Play Station even in near future. Maybe only thing that could possibly over come that excitement (for me) would be some holographic games where one participate in 3d...something like Player One...who knows, that would be so cool. People would die in their bed and transfer their awareness in games if that would be possible..
Can't wait to get one of these. I notice your sounds are completely different, is that because it's an export machine vs. a US machine (with the other difference being the US backbox has a black frame and chaser lights) ?
From Pinside: Gottlieb's BLACK HOLE was released in October 1981 in 2 different versions - to reduce costs, the exported versions had no 3D-Backglasses in a different Top and no speech as well.
Your black hole must have had the original sound and speech board removed and only a sound board added. I own a black hole as well and will never part with it! Hard to find one in good working order
+benz1981 Hi, that's interesting. Mine has a Pascal board in it. So are the background sounds the same as yours just with no speech? I have all the original boards so if I plug them back in I will have speech? Thanks, Matt.
+tattyadams Yes the sounds on black hole are different then the one you have. If you want to hear them just look at other black hole pins here on UA-cam. Try your other board and see what happens it just might work... The sound and speech are all on one board.
Wow.... virtual pinball table sounds NOTHING like this not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing but the farsight tables are definitely not anywhere near the sounds this things making
That's because there's two versions of Black hole, this is an export version which had a simpler sound card. The USA version sounds just like the pinball arcade one.

the best pinball ever created, Gottlieb Black Hole !

I really like this sound version. It`s like a horror sci fi pinball. Nice mood. Would be cool to switch between the themes.
This game is a pain in the ass to get working if it's not working and to keep it working is even harder
Just stick a Pascal board in it, bullet proof! I have a US (infinity backbox) BH now so very happy :-)
joguei muito essa mesa nos anos 80 em são paulo. quantas saudades!! nostalgia
Ok. At 56 years old, if I have to get a paper route again to be able to play pinball again, that's a deal I'll take.
Really good game, as you stated in the description it's tough to get multiball but besides that it's really fun to play.

Classic game room reviews this pinball machine
A lot of stuff going on for such a wide open machine. I could see tiring of the sound but there is plenty to keep one interested in this machine.
this video doesnt have the correct sounds which I did get tired of just watching the video.
In which pinball, the strength of the lower flippers decreased?
The soundtrack is the same soundtrack From Eclipse
Nice work

Very nice concept
Is this an export version? Sound is definitely not typical.
What happened to the original sounds & speech?
Omg where can i buy this stuff?

Different sounds
Sticking a quarter on a string in the machine? Lol

@@DaveTheTrain I almost like this one's sound effects better to be honest
