Fun fact: London has the most CCTV in the world, but no one cares and the BBC doesn’t report it. CCTV can only be video recording. If a crime occurs, the police can solve the case through video recording. There are simply too many people in China. Only CCTV can deter crime. prices are low, life is convenient, Girls can go out late at night, which is a rare phenomenon in Europe.and everything you want is available. Chinese people can travel as they please and immigrate. People who don’t like China can immigrate to the UK at any time, but what’s interesting is that many Chinese students have returned from the UK because prices are too high, the weather is bad, and there are homeless people and graffiti everywhere.

As a Chinese, I have some issues to discuss with Western friends about personal privacy.
In private places, privacy is unquestionable, such as at home.
However, if we enter public places, such as buses or intersections, shouldn’t public safety be more important than private issues?

Don't wanna talk big here, just share a story back in my hometown, a tier 5 city in China, there was one traffic accident happened two or three years ago on a crossroad, one old lady got hit and hurt by a car at night, that car ran away from the site immediately and the police failed to track him down in one day, took them three days to find the driver, some citizens were really mad at it because the city government did not set high-resolution CCTVs on that crossroad, without newest camera, the plate of that car were too blurred to see, so the government had to replace those CCTVs in days.
That's how Chinese people view on public security cameras.

It's interesting how Western media often portrays China as a country plagued by poverty, danger, scams, and unfriendliness. In contrast, many Chinese people perceive Western countries as having a high standard of living, which is why Chinese companies may use Western models to promote their products.
When I first traveled to the UK to study abroad as a young person, I was excited and had high expectations. However, after a few days, I found the reality to be quite different from what I had imagined. There were many homeless people on the streets, graffiti and litter, and my UK friends advised me to be very cautious about using my phone at night due to safety concerns.
It's true that China is not a democratic country, but the Communist Party has made progress in improving the living standards of Chinese citizens. I remember 30 years ago, when I returned to China, there were many beggars on the streets, and issues like robbery and kidnapping were real concerns. But China has since undergone a remarkable transformation, becoming even more modern than Hong Kong in many ways. Lifting 1.4 billion people out of poverty is an immense achievement.

I must pull you up on one item there.
China is a VERY democratic country.
It is just different. While you don't vote who runs the country, those people are under extreme scrutiny.
There are 98 MILLION members of the CPC. And all members have a chance to shape policy. Even non-members more of a say about how the country is shaped.
For instance China has a great system for feedback to the various levels of government.
More people in China OWN a part of the company they work at. Meaning that this democracy extends to the workplace and working conditions.
So please. Understand. China's democracy looks very different. But if you dig deeper you'll find that the quality and quantity of democracy that their systems allows is considerably more effective than it is in the west.

When in reality the peoples' interests are rarely, if ever advocated for due to both parties serving the same interests from the minority billionaire class.

I have finished watching the video and would like to share my opinion:
China is extremely safe. In my experience and memory, only 20 years ago, China's public security situation was poor, but in the past 10 years, China's public security situation has been extremely good. As long as anyone observes public security cases on Chinese social media, you will find that almost all of them are very minor crimes. Even very minor crimes can become a topic of heated discussion, which proves that China is extremely safe.
Any child or woman can go out alone at 3 am without any harassment or physical harm. In the past decade, I have not heard anyone complain about being robbed or mugged.
There is also the issue of surveillance cameras. There is no one behind the camera watching you, but recording. It is used to trace crimes that have occurred and deter potential bad guys. If a good person acts in a public place, he does not need to worry. From a technical perspective, China is a superpower with a population of 1.4 billion. Does it need another 1.4 billion people to monitor? This is obviously absurd.
Almost all Chinese people like public surveillance equipment because it can bring security and freedom. And the bad guys are most afraid of this.
Some people have mentioned the issue of democracy in China. I would like to say two most important questions: "What is the fundamental purpose of democracy?" and "Is there only one path to achieve democracy?".
Democracy is about realizing dreams and having a bright future for all people. Democracy is people-oriented, and people are the most important. People have the right to development and the right to realize their dreams, and they need fairness. In China, children from an ordinary poor family can change their class through hard work and realize their dreams. Everyone lives safely in society and family, without worrying about being hurt. This is the democracy I imagine.
    2. Is there only one path to democracy? Of course not. China has its own development direction and a distinctive national path to achieve it. We have the right to choose. But all of this has been denigrated.
In short: the Chinese people are returning to the peak position of history, returning to the role it should have been, and no one can stop them, they are fearless.

Now poor Chinese need western UA-camrs to show the ‘truth’ because they are so offended. I think the people of great China can look after themselves without some west hating twats trying to help out.
