@yuri i strongly recommend the carbon fibre henderson harmonics. My pipe band uses them. i have 3 sets of them. they have a great sound its mellow with a little crisp to it. i hope this helps :D if you like the gurgle sound i have a video on my channel on how to do it. the reeds out-of-the-box have a tiny bit of the gurgle but i can be taken away
My Murray Henderson harmonics plastic tongues aren't harsh at all. They actually have a nice smooth drone sound. Maybe it depends on where the bridal is set.
When I had the plastic tongues i had a harder reed but. It might be the pipe set I have that makes the reeds sound so harsh. My instructor uses them and I thought they where glass fibre but she has a harsh drone sound. I'll have to try them again
Question : does the drones thickness modulation of the outside diameter profile ( the inside diameter being cylindrical) impacts the sound in any way (if so in which way?) or is it purely decorative ?thanks
I've had enough of my Ezeedrones, do you recommend Murray Henderson harmonic deluxe with the carbon fiber? Because the band I want to join is switching to them so I'm interested in trying them out.
So how did you make the drones like that so when you strike it sounds almost perfect if you know what I mean? For my drone reeds when i strike they dont start up like how yours did. Like when u striked in
Sounds like you might need to adjust the bridals. If the bridals are adjusted correctly your drone reeds should start and stop at almost the same time. Fill you bag and over squeeze and listen to them cut out, and just adjust them until theyre all even. and remember, the tenor reeds technically have 2 tones when then kick in, the bass is always 1 tone.
shows to go ya IMHO...both sets sound virtually identical and an insignificant change in tuning positions. from behind a curtain no one would know which is which ...as both sound very credible.
dude love that growl in the strike in!
Thank you!

@Tomio that awesome. How did you like the games. I was also doing drum majoring!

@Tomio it went really well. I placed 2 seconds and a third for the play offs. For the finals I got a 2nd 4th and 5th
Cheers man, if you see me please say hello.
What useful purpose does the gurgle have in strike in?? I find it annoying for my taste. I prefer a clean strike in. To each his own.
Ezeedrone tennors and a Henderson bass. The sound is magic mate. Are you going to be at Pleasanton?
