    I think it should be mandatory for kids to show their work on tests and quizzes so that if they get an answer wrong, the teacher knows where the problem is exactly. If a student doesn’t show work then only like a half a point should be taken off for each question with no work. That being said, people that can’t learn so well need to be encouraged and nurtured into tutoring so they can have motivation to advance their education on their own.

    What curicculum do public high schools use?

    • @d4uimmigration
      @d4uimmigration Рік тому

      Hello Wissam!
      Public high school curriculum can differ by country, state, and district. In the US, typical subjects include English, math, science, and social studies. Electives like foreign languages, arts, physical education, and technology are common. Advanced courses like AP and honors, as well as career-focused classes, might be offered. Curriculum details can change, so for specific information, it's best to refer to school sources.

    The american school system always confused me as our german system is different.
    First thing to adress are the grades. We grade from 1 (best) to 6 (worst)
    Then the Main Subjects: We have German, English and Maths as "Hauptfächer" (Main Subjects)
    Subsidary Subjects: Religion, History, Politics, Economics, P.E. ,Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Arts, Handicrafts (usually from class 3 to 5), Swimming (usually from class 1 to 5/6)
    Profil Subjects: Technology and Home Economics (you can choose which one you want to attend between the 2)
    Second Foreign Language: French, Spanish or Latin. (Your choice)
    Depending on the school and state there are also "Werkpflichtfächer" (Compulsory Work Subject)
    These can be pretty average subjects like physics, P.E. or Geography but also some more interesting choices like a third foreign language (usually Dutch or Danish in Northern German states), Social Pedagogy, Technology or Home Economics
    We have elementary school from class 1 to 4 and then things get different as we have 3 different types of secondary schools; Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium. Hauptschule is from class 5 to 9/10, Realschule goes from class 5 to 10 and Gymnasium from class 5 to 11 and ends with the so called "Abitur".
    Hauptschule is for kids who are a bit slower at learning or have trouble in specific subjects and is the lowest secondary school leaving certificate
    Realschule is for your basic every day education and for students who dont have trouble with learning but arent super smart. It also has 2 different types of certificates; the normal Realschulabschluss (Grade point average above 3,0) and the "Erweiterter Realschulabschluss" Grade point average below 3,0)
    Gymnasium is usually for kids who learn with no difficulty and very fast as the different lesson topics (for example geometry in mathematics) are done faster than at Real or Hauptschule. It ends with "Abitur" (class 11 to 13) and gives you the highest School leaving certificate and is mandatory to be able to attend to University.
    We also have the "Berufsschule" or Vocational school in english which offers different courses to prepare the students for a specific type of occupation for example office jobs like office management assistant or wood construction for carpenter (These are just a few examples they offer alot more). They also teach you how to pay taxes
    Of course there are variations in Subjects or school Lenght but these are minor varioations. The average school lenght is from 7:45 in the morning to 1 in the noon but based on which state you are it is slightly different as Germany is a Federal Republic like the USA
    Unfortunaly we have a strong shortage of teachers up to 25.000. Thats the reason why some states are currently planning to make a 4 days school week with longer school days but 1 day less than before. Not sue if this will work since teachers arent paid much, only 2.300 € (2.517,12 US Dollars) monthly for up to 42 work hours weekly
    I hope i was able to give you a bit of Insight in the German School system

      Not trying to make fun but Why are you using a comma in place of a dot and vice versa? Is it written that way in german usually?

    • @d4uimmigration
      @d4uimmigration Рік тому

      I don't know about Germany, but in Brazil we use comma for cents and dot for thousands. Probably it's the same there. @@bps739

    Like she said, American school system doesn't care about grades or how well a student does. All they care is putting them through system. That is why American education system is ranked 25th in the world! Pathetic!

    I have PTSD from my job as a middle school teacher! Never again! Those kids need to learn respect and discipline before coming to our classrooms to LEARN! KEEP YOUR KIDS AT HOME please we are not paid for their disobedience, bullying adults, and so far to threaten our lives and bringing guns to schools!

    All School Teachers should work 12 months a year. When classes are not in session, Teachers could do Administrative work and perform other tasks, based on their skill-pool attributes. In the long run, this would save School Districts money in that they wouldn't have to hire as many people to perform non-teaching jobs. Physical plant duties could also be done in that manor. Simplistically hat better way to fix the furnace, by a Shop Teacher with help from Industrial Arts Students (if in session). Schools being self-sufficient, will minimal exceptions, is not only good & practical education, but more cost effective & easing the tax burdens on residents of the District. Any to be more cost-effective to a School District, WITHOUT compromising the Educational standards for the students, would be a feather in the cap for the learning process. School Districts, based on their relative student body size, should not have to have an Assistant Principal in EACH school building. They should travel back & forth between the schools, on an as-needed basis. Another and even more practical cost-cutting measure was mentioned at the onset of this writing. The idea of utilizing School Teachers all year long would be a PROFOUND way of Districts getting more-bang-for-the-buck. Hypothetical situation: If a Teacher was employed by a School District for 40 years, they only actually performed 30 years of work. Another much-needed change, for School Districts in general, would be to contour sessions based on the local weather. In other words, in School Districts that ensure harsh winters, have the three-month-off sessions then. It would not only be more practical with respect to not having snow days or putting students & bus drivers at risk, but also taking away the necessity to have so much time off for the Holidays. It would be a win-win situation for all. I'm surprised this has never been implemented in the past?

      How about school sports when school isn't in session ?like hockey in those kinds of places ?
      Also, in my school we had a few school assistant principals, they helped deal with all the bad kids. Though just saying, when the teachers are teaching, someone has to keep up the maintenence, and if the teachers were to do that during the summer when they aren't teaching, that puts maintenence people out of jobs... it seems to me like isles going to be one oflr the other...

    • @rossmartenak5517
      @rossmartenak5517 Рік тому

      @@techdiyer5290 The whole idea is to cut costs, so the School Districts can save money, be more efficient, & ease the tax burden for taxpayers. It simply makes no sense for ANY employee to sit idle for three months a year & still be on the payroll. It's simple economics.
