The PGA just experienced an epiphany with the US Open and Bryson's win. The player's board are now absorbing what the public thinks and wants. It is coming down to what is good for golf and its growth vs. the player's petty squabbles. The reporting has been in a bubble in a repeat cycle missing the money question. What was the ratings on NBC and social media in comparison to other majors? What was the gate impact by these spectacular players? 20 years ago Tiger had a 20% gate impact. This is because reporters cannot step outside the PGA vs. LIV agenda and narrative without losing access. The public is way ahead of the media on what just happened. Bryson is the "lone wolf who found his pack" and the public embraces it. Great stuff!

As of today, LIV Golf is bigger and better then PGAT. Worldwide golf with super stars competing in every event. LIV is touching parts of the world the PGA only dreamed of touching. This whole mess is Jay and Tigers fault. And if anyone thinks Jay is running this whole thing, you're sadly mistaken. He's been a puppet since he first emerged. Tiger is the hidden boss. Mark my words.

Boy, if DeChambeau wins at Troon, how is he not the player of the year? Winning two majors, 1 shot back in a third and top 10 in the fourth. Consistency is all well and good, but in this version of the golf world the majors are everything. If one guy wins two, nearly wins another and no one else has more than one, there's your dominant player for that year. Case closed.
But he does have to win at Troon.
Exactly in this era the best player is determined at the majors. Bryson is the best right now.

That was clear from the start
havent watched the video and i can tell ya that RORY can learn to not be such a bitch in defeat. the last tourney, bryson came in second and immediately was congratulating the winner, shaking hands etc. rory sneaks out the back door and races to his PJ. after all the tough talk rory made about liv and everything else, he sure did show his bitch side sunday. and also BRYSON IS GREAT FOR GOLF AND SHOULD BE ON THE OLYMPIC TEAM REPRESENTING HIS COUNTRY.

I think a fair trade would involve the PGA Tour Board getting Norman's head on a platter while the PIF gets Monahan's head on a platter. Everybody wins!

Good point. Just the fact that they specified it as an exemption for players with 80+ wins is a joke. They couldn’t even call it for what it really is as the Tiger Woods exemption.

Why its a bad idea and 'not competitive' when Liv works that way, but a good idea for the PGA Tour to do it that way?
These two guys are saying the right things, but you can still feel the saltiness about Bryson's popularity seeping out.
These guys ponder stuff better than most of us. "Doesn't matter whether Phil or Bryson are genuine". Love it.

Why does Lav make talking sound so difficult?
Rory has been very candid about golf, often to his own detriment. Being asked "did you choke" 35 minutes after the final round, his most devastating defeat ever, can't blame him.
Bryson comes across well on UA-cam, great turnaround.

Pro-competitive golf - hmm. Does Imperial make any LIV golf hats? Do any of the tent/food vendors service both tours?
I’m not sure of the answer. Honest question. But if the answer is no, then there is nothing different.
You Correctly put into context of the different times where a player lost catastrophically but still faced the press in their worst moments. Rory shouldn’t get a pass and shouldn’t be coddled. If the roles were reversed where Bryson was the one that choked away the win and sped off without speaking to media, would he have been given a pass. I think he would have been vilified and torched to no end. At the PGA Bryson not only went back to congratulate Zander but did his presser and showed how much he was hurting coming in short. Rory is still immature and a poor loser (note Ryder cup meltdown with LaCava) and probably left because he didn’t want the public to see him cry.
It's simple...Rory hates LIV...if another person won he may have congratulated the winner...but missing 2 puts and losing to a LIV player made him leave...unacceptable either way!!
These guys hate each other I think. They both would rather be doing something else thats for sure.
They dismiss Bryson as an actor and someone we “see only 4 times a year” discounting LIV and wonder why a deal with PIF can’t be done?
Here’s a hint. Monahan mentioned “global” because PIF wants to make their venture an international series event that LOVES guys can opt into like the current Asian tour international series or the women’s international series. Nothing more. A pga sideshow for the LIV main event. Whether it happens now painlessly or later painfully is up to PGA leadership.

Kevin Falkus Brysons agent got into it with Damon Hack cause Brysons agent is pissed that GC talked so much shit. He wanted Bryson to run away so he can control the narrative. If you notice Todd Lewis didnt sit down with Bryson for Golf Central. What did we learn from Brysons media tour. Liv tour is going na na boo boo. This pissing contest will never ends. Especially with those who will have contracts up at the end of this season.

Rory is THE worst person to represent the PGA tour’s interests. He is a player but as a personality, he comes across as the ultimate self centred and spoiled sportsman. With every loss he takes, his behaviour just sinks. He’s so disappointing and over the least few years he’s gone from my favourite player to the one I dislike the most.
