Oooooooooooo that wood ladder trick to make a "plant stand" for outside is a GREAT idea!!! Wish I would have seen it sooner because I just threw away 2 wood ladders because they were taking up room and nothing to do with them......now, I'll be on the lookout for. couple more.

I planted the bromeliads yesterday. My main concern was making their bed. I didn’t really know what I was doing....I added some potting mix, mini pine bark nuggets, topsoil with cow maneuver in it, natural sand and coir mixed it up by hand. They look good under the tree, wish I could share a picture of them with you. 😊 I hope they like it there and they survive. 🤞🏼
I own two Desert roses they are in pots on my lanai and I’m going to re-pot them because they kind of fill flimsy not very firm plus the dirt is just regular potting soil. I will use your mix with the mini pine nuggets, potting soil and I forget what the third thing was I’ll have to go back and watch your video again, lol
Anyways, one has a ton of flowers and leaves and the other one is small doesn’t seem like it wants to grow with hardly no leaves and no flowers. ☹️
AND neither one of them have that big trunk like all of yours....I think I planted mine to deep in the dirt. 😩

Amie Lynn Hi Amie the mix for desert Rose need a good drainage soil the soil mix it’s 80% timberland pine bark mini nuggets, 20% coco peat or also you can use for the 20% coco peat ,sta-green potting soil Lowe’s brand also you can used osmocote 14-14-14 slow release, also I,recommend Eason salt but you need to buy unscented Thank you Maria’s garden

Boogie IV Hi my friend any desert rose germinate fro seeds will bloom with them a year or less also they can produce seed pots if you plat isn’t blooming for year it’s something wrong need repotted or less direct sun light or needs more sun light also can need trimming or fertilizer high in nitrogen best time release if you can send a picture I can maybe help

Maria I am a great fyan of your videos and bought 1 year old desert roses from the nursery I bought six plant I live in Bangladesh it very hot here always rainy season just finished and here avg temp is 30 to 32 degree Celsius through out the year only in winter for 1 month the weather is 15 degree Celsius ok now rainy season gone but here its always very warm and humid so I need a advise from you all my desert roses are losing all there leaves and buds even baby loves are becoming yellow and falling my plant get good sun all day and I water them when the soil is dry I checked the plants there's no root rot or pest but all leaves are becoming yellow and falling down what should I do ? thank you Maria you inspired me now I Amin love with your videos and desert rose esp rose variety pls help

Hi my friend the only reason for adenium to get soft it’s dehydrated or not enough water during the heat summer if you’re located in a very hot place like Florida sometimes are temperature it’s about 110 degrees and desert roses get very stressed what you need to do during summer to make sure you desert rose don’t get more than 3 to 4 hours of sun ☀️ and during the winter they need full sun to prevent root rot I will like to know you temperature during summer and winter time and I can maybe help you better thank you Maria’s garden

HI Maria, My name is Jackie, I live in montreal, Quebec Canada. I just found your tube channel.
A lady in my building gave me a plant this Christmas that she no longer wanted.
She said that she has had it for 10 year and it never flowers.
It's makes a few leaves and then they fall off...and in the summer it doesn't do well in the sun...the leaves burn.
She said it was a Dessert Rose.
I have never seen one before but I love plants so I took it and thank her very for it.
I've been on the internet looking for information on the Dessert Rose for the past 2 weeks and finally came across your UA-cam channel.
In one hour I have learned more about this plant than then the past 2 weeks.

I just want to make sure I understand. Did you say after you cut off the rots let the sun hit it for a while. After it's all dry, put it in the dirt and let it sit for 6 weeks with no water no sun?

Hi Maria. I spoke to you several times on the phone last year in December or in February this year. I made a mixture as close as I could to yours minus the pine bark. We can't get it in Los Angeles or California. I had to increase the perlite and reduce the potting mix because it was holding too much water. I tried saving many of the ones with root rot, cinnamon, and glue but wasn't very successful. They never got hard and just kept getting softer even after I put it in the sun. You know Los Angeles has such different climate than Florida. My roots were never as long as yours so it was too close to the trunk. It looks like your mix has more soil than what I use; it's hard to tell from the video because the mix looks dark. If I wanted to order a desert rose from you what is the size and cost to Los Angeles? Tell me what you think about my mixture too. I use coir, medium nuggets, Lowes soil, perlite and osmacote. Of course I use cinnamon and glue.

@@MariasgardenGarden there is a lowes around me, so i can look!!! Is that where you get the big bgs of soil as well?! There are only 2 plamt nurseries around me, and i went to both looking for course perlite, and BOTH places , the owner had no clue what perlite for soil was....they only had "outside plants" (im in indiana so it gets winter here like crazy) but when the two plant places dont lnow what perlite it, you know youre in trouble!!! Hahaha. But instead of glue for plants , i use Cinnamon for cuts or if there is. nick or i cut something off a plant, and thats worked ok... but glue woule be nice to have on hand.......
I would love a follow up on the group you werw going to throw away, but found to be hardened ofr and trying to get them to grow roots!! I jave one of these that i bought as a seedling and the poor thing is alive but not thriving at all...if it makes it through winter this year, i think ive learned it needs more light. I thought this was a medium light plant.

Hi Maria -- another great video. A little long, but fun stuff. ONE QUESTION--- How old are those hundreds of desert roses directly behind you when you are painting the rocks?. Sorry to hear about your family health situation. We had a crazy family situation too... my 37 yr old daughter and husband went to Africa. On her birthday (Dec 1) their canoe (guided canoe tour) was attacked by a hippo and it grabbed her right leg and held her under water for 45 seconds and broke her femur and ripped up her leg right around the knee both top and bottom. After 12 operations so far they fixed the broken leg (twice) and tried to do huge skin grafts on top and bottom of the knee area. Still can't walk and the grafts are not healing properly. Do a Google search on "hippo attack Kristen" and read the articles and see the videos from Good Morning America, Inside Edition and Animal Planet. She is soooo lucky to be alive!! Interesting stories. She loves desert roses as I do!! . I am a huge fan of yours -- Daryle (Tampa area)

OMG...if you pause at exactly 29:38 or 29:39, that plant looks like it has legs. More specifically, they look exactly like Torgo’s pants, from the classic Horror film “Manos: The Hands of Fate”!!! Why does your sale page say desert roses can't be grown inside? If you grow inside it void's the guarantee. I'm in NY state and have to bring in for winter. I've been doing this for years with much success. I guess unfortunately I'll not be able to buy from you, but I love u and your channel. So I have to be happy with your plants on my TV.
