Good morning Mike just got through watching your Galveston Island video. I know this sounds strange but it was interesting to hear myself on your radio, and you have such beautiful conditions. Thanks for activating Galveston State Park and coming down on 40 m. Also congratulations on getting on the leaderboard for the park. Hope to talk to you again later down the log. 73 WD5ENH Steve
I had just started PotA hunting and made contact with you that day. I didn't realize at the time you were the guy I have been learning about PotA from on UA-cam!
Very nice Mike! Looked like a great day to POTA! I tried to get you this day but the signal was weak which was expected but you did have a pile up. One day I’ll get you in the log. 😂
When the grackles first started making that sound, I had to make sure that noise was not coming out of my washing machine. The next time you want to drive the spike into the ground, try screwing a nut on it. It will protect the threads.
It’s called a gulf but go try it out when the wind is blowing 50 knots. World cruisers say it’s rougher than any ocean they’ve sailed. I’ve been out on a 100’ crew boat in 20 knots of wind and it bounced the boat mercilessly. It’s definitely ocean even if it’s not “an” ocean.
WOW thats a great spot to activate! you ever try a vertical with a counterpoise in the saltwater there? not that you need to, you obviously made plenty of contacts.
I live just on the other side of the causeway in Bayou Vista and keep meaning to make a trip to the park and have a nice POTA activation but always keep saying tomorrow but I guess with the wonderful weather I’ll have to get a fire under my self. FOG
What is your modified Packtenna?!? I brought my Ver 1 Packtenna 9:1 out for the CA CQP and it still cranks. Been a few years since I have been to Galveston - nice place as long as it's not July. The baño B roll priceless...Cheers and 73!
I did the same thing with my ground spike. Do you know where a good place to find a replacement for that ground spike would be? I also need to put a dead-blow hammer into that kit. I ruined mine with the hammer side of a camping hatchet 😢.
You can get a threading die at any hardware store to repair the damaged threads. The threads are 3/8” x 24 tpi fine threads (NF). While you’re at it, pick up a few 3/8x24 fine thread nuts (a few spares) to protect the threads from hammering.
Love that you included our contact!! Thanks Mike
I had too. Gotta keep the battle alive!
Not a SKY in the clouds 😆🤣🤣
Thanks for testing that. Interesting results, but it makes sense. Back to the drawing board
Get two birds stoned at once! I’m rolling my friend 😆
Looked like so much pleasant fun. I enjoyed the scenic clips of the trip among the contacts. Nicely done.
Good to work you again Mike, and thanks for including our QSO. Always interesting to hear yourself on the other side! 73 Randy KAØAZS

Hi Mike,
Awesome activation. HamAlert was slow. Didn't see the notice until after you went QRT. Stay safe. 73 WJ3U
That was an epic activation, Miguel! You'll catch up to N5YIZ soon, bro!

More Kazoos! I have a fever and the only prescription is more Kazoo!
Never been. Looks like a visit is in store. Might have to zip past Vern & Ranae's and hit Galveston. Keep em coming.
“There is not a sky in the clouds?“ Lol.
Gotta try fishing for speckled trout off the North Jetty.
But before you try wade fishing, learn the Gulf Coast Shuffle.
Hey cool!
I did make the cut. Nice to check my audio from 1800 miles away.
Thanks for the contact, 73.
Mike the production level of your videos is growing exponentially. Wonderful videos keep up the good work. Love ya brother. HAM Harder.
Thanks man, I'm trying!
Good for you Mike
That’s awesome 🤘
I spent a week in that park and didn't see the sun!

Gotta love those Jersey Mike’s Subs!
That's not an ocean that a gulf. 😁 Nice job.

Next trip you need to bring all your old free gear for a beginner just getting started with only a handheld

Bet there aren’t any clouds in the sky either.😊
Next time you're in town, give me a shout! I have a lot of bourbon to get rid of. Bring fam and make a day of it.
Nice!
I hate you... No, I am just so jealous of you. I'm still working and your out in the sun playing pota. I am so glad you have your priorities straight.
First.
I’d be itching to get out on the water… then play radio.
I know, it's very hard being there. Wish I had a boat. There's some really good fishing out on them there waters.

@@David-hm9ic Yeah, I was already thinking about doing the nut thing for next time.
You're Texas, it's cokes not pop.
I was born in FL I know better. You're right. I'll not let it slip again.
