I just heard him play for the first time. This man is an Bassist. I'm blown away.
RIP Charnett (54 !!) ;-(
What a great musician he was.
I saw Charnett play two completely different sets the same night - as part of Pharoah Sanders band - @ Yoshis in Oakland, CA. His solo during the second set is still one of the most beautiful badass mind blowing things I’ve ever seen. 🔥✊🏼💕
Rest in peace, big brother.🙏🏾
I've been a fan since I heard him on Sonny Sharrock's last album, what a talent!!
I'm hypnotized .........that got me!!!.....Le
just met this brilliant musician by a stanley jordan video. couldnt be more impressive with the bow!!! genius!
This was one of the Double Bass players who inspired me to learn, perform and live the instrument and music. Bravo Maestro Moffett
We love this understanding of double bass playing. Simply brilliant. He is one of the best modern bass players, if not the best.
One of my heroes. I found out about Charnett from Mulgrew Miller's _Wingspan_ album, then heard him a couple of years later on the soundtrack to The Score, where he was the featured bass player. Finally got to meet him in person a few years back when he was playing with Will Calhoun. Going to miss you.
Breath taking
Now how good is this...!!??
Check out his work with Stanley Jordan, specifically _Return Expedition_

凄い☆
Charnett's solo on "Who Does She Hope to Be?," from Sonny Sharrock's album Ask the Ages, is one of the most beautiful bass solos I've ever heard. It is very short, but says so much.
Began listening to Charnett when Moffett Man hit. Who out there remember "One Left Over"?
Sublime. Beautiful work. Thanks Charnett dude.
Brilliant, amazing... !
wow
Wizard.
Beautiful,sound Arabisch,film musik!2019.
Damn!
Toca muy bien el instrumento pero para mi gusto demasiado aparatoso toca demasiadas notas parecería ser que tiene una necesidad imperiosa de impresionar.
Nice demonstration, Charnett. (you can do better than that , on a Kolstein travel bass)
