I'm blown away.
Where I come from (Nigeria), classical music is given very little attention or space. But I feel that so many people just don't recognize good sound for what it is.
I actually play the recorder-and oh, how I would love to be work with the Chineke! Orchestra someday!
I do not understand how anyone can play this and not burst into tears.
Because….feeling is not a form of art…..if you are crying you cant play well, write well, compose well, nothing. You just cry…and you can also cry because of a terrible movie, a terrible book or terrible music.
Schindlers list theme is terrible music…but everybody cries when they listen to it, see….same with the end of the movie…terrible end, but people cry. Crying is not a garanty of quality.
Nobody cries with The magic mountain or the Brahms Piano Sonatas…..or with Bachs Art of the fugue….too good music to start crying…
Dont trust your feelings in art….
Incredible poignance for this moment in history! Deeply moving, powerful performance
It most certainly is. We are so very honoured to have had the opportunity to perform and record this extraordinary piece of music.
Really great performance. This piece definitely doesn't receive as much performance time as it merits. Very moving.
Breathtaking
👏👏👏
Bravo!
Beautiful work!
Beautiful work, Thank you!
Beautiful!!! Well done!!!
Definitely love Hailstork, although he's a challenge for the novice reader, especially when in 3/2 and 4.5/4
I spy Mariam Adam! (on clarinet, formerly of the Imani Winds)
why would you let them run an ad in the middle of this? ugh.
And can you imagine…Wynton Marsalis explains how european jazz actually is….and now we create „classical music black orchestras“….
