Something interesting to note is that black marsh can never exit to the bottom left since the monastery always takes that side of tamoe highland. It makes marsh easy to predict as it's either left or right, follow the path
I map hacked my mind. Now I can get anywhere in D2. The downside is that I can't figure out where I am in reality. I kept following these suggestions and I appeared near the waypoint in Biloxi, Mississippi. Send help and/or a GPS.
Honorable mentions (and various stuff): >> Yeah... About sewers lvl 2 in Act 2, the stairs for lvl 2 are always either right down the hallway or left down the hallway from the bottom entrance. >> IIRC if you have top left city exit in Act 2, your maps can loop around back to the city walls pretty often which can help you get oriented quickly or for whatever reason, as in --> you go top left to exit city (Rocky Waste), then you go top right (Dry Hills), then bottom right (Far Oasis) and then bottom left (Lost City) and Viper will be at the most far right (it can't spawn anywhere else because of all other map tiles), kind of top right-ish from the city tile. Bottom left wall of the Lost City in this case will be practically a border wall between Town tile and LC tile which is kinda neat/interesting to see nothing else. That is one very specific case I definitely caught while playing... I think it can't loop back to the city walls when city exit is to the right tho... _(if you have access to teleport)_ >> You CAN actually teleport in between some wings of Arcane instead of always going back to the middle/wp spot (if you don't have tele, it's usually faster to tp back to town then run across and get to the wp instead of walking back thru the wrong wing again). And the 2 wings you can teleport from are one with 'all flat grounds/straight' and other one is 'mind f/freaky stairs' one. For this to work they NEED to be wings that are next to each other (because of how wings generate) and it's better if 'straight wing' is at the bottom. If you were to pause Llama's vid on exactly 36:21 you can see the up left flat square of where he currently is kinda "looks" across the void to the flat square on freaky stairs wing with 2 exits going top right and top left... Well if you position yourself at the tippy top of that flat square in the straight wing you can actually see and teleport to the bottom of the flat square in the freaky stairs wing (this works both ways but it's sometimes finicky to tele downwards, upwards is much easier dunno why I'm guessing it has something to do with the POV and platforms hitboxes -- like if you hover over bottom part of platforms where pillars are game reads that as a hit instead of aiming for the upper line-y edges). This shaves off a few seconds instead of going thru about 3 more squares in each wing, if you really care about this at all. :) >> The temple that *always* have the book, what MrLlama said it's facing bottom left (which I didn't know) is ALWAYS called Ruined Temple, so even if you don't memorize it being bottom left one and go and check each one individually it's always the one that's called Ruined Temple not anything else. >> Durance of Hate level 2 has only 4 variations (as explained more detailed in MrLlama's other vid about map generation), you can find the stairs to level 3 and level 1 pretty easily depending on where the wp is (when you are going thru wp, it works on the same principle as Halls of Pain). Another little fun thing here (as I imagine is on some other maps as well) the size of Durance depends highly on the difficulty level you are playing on, in other words if you are playing on the Normal it's gonna be pretty small map overall and on the Hell it's gonna have much more rooms and hallways but the principle is the same (it's always 4 variations). :)
Maphacking in my mind scratches the same itch as solving a rubik's cube: I don't feel smart for having figured it out without help, I feel reassured that a process I don't quite understand but trust anyway works the way I expect it to. It's not an exercise in intelligence, it's an exercise of faith.
It's straight from enterence tille in UP Ang go "river top" in jungle. On BNet yyou can join game in act 4 or 5 -> ask for trav wp -> run to last wp (dot bother with council, stairs are open) -> mark last wp -> make a new game -> go to mef from wp
Go stright in UP. In jungle go "river top". Also on BNet you can join act 4 or 5 game -> ask for Trav wp -> run from it to last wp (skip council, stairs are open) -> mark last wp -> make a new game -> go from wp to mef.
Yeah, hug the walls and don't trust any other bs guides (like there's a guy that is like when you teleport in this direction and you hit a wall turn to this side then teleport until you hit the wall etc. which is over-complicating and doesn't work 100% of the time anyways). That's about it. :D
Suggestion; make a video showing armor/weapon racks and super chests? I always go top left and too right every time I kill nilathaak for the free armor and weapons racks that spawn there for example (also lots on the way after pindle too)
I've been playing since release and I've NEVER had a lower left waypoint cloister, never has the barracks been in the right hand entrance for me, is it super rare to get that layout?
Yo can make a guide to rushing new chars video. You can make an windows app to recognise magic and rare items value from image recognition. This will be a hit!
Tals Tomb is left, but almost always its not just left. Its 3xleft or some randomness. I think its the worst map in game. Additionaly rumor has it that Top Left in Arcane has 0.5% more chance 🙂
mr lamer, you should of done this sat next to ur adult toilet so we know this is a new vid and not ur old map hack vid when you were using a baby toilet

Spawned in gulfport. very upsetting.
Thank you Llama! I did watch studiously your first in depth video of the exits, and this one really makes it all click easily. Great information!
to be able to understand the 'left-right-straight' ways of the tile for me is to imagine looking out of the eyes of your character exiting the tile
Same! I've always used main hand (right) and shield/offhand(left)
I think of it like I'm looking at a map while driving and approaching an intersection
Shield/sword side

Mrllama you should have used the same shirt you used when you made the old Map hack in your mind video xD
I was literally just going to pull up the old video to remind myself of a few things, this is great XD
I'll never for get "right-left, left-right, and cross-across" for Outer Cloister!
love that we have to think of where we were in the cold plains when we get halfway through act 3

Any tip on how to find The Forgotten Tower faster? I just run around randomly until I find it, which makes rune runs greatly vary in time.

Stay the course. You’re doing a great job. It’s the last good game.
We are hanging onto something that can never truly be.
Ah, map reading guide remastered. Llama’s MHR.
When you suddenly realize Chaos is a swastika
IMO, it’s more of a christian cross (crucifix) with some “fingers” lol. Which is more symbolic of fighting the devil (Diablo) on a pentagram
forgot maggot lair which is right for lvl 1 and 2 and straight for lvl 3 afaik
Good call yes thank you
Is there any trick to navigating Kurast bazaar and upper Kurast for all the temples ?

What program is he clipping with? I need this lmao.
I've played D2 for YEARS and never picked up on the Outer Cloister WP telling you where the Barracks was.
Excellent stuff
Thank you
always great content!

I can add, in Arcane Sanctuary the top left way has the best chance of exit
its ALWAYS top left my dood. except when it isnt of course.
@@Daz86.it’s top left AT LEAST 25% of the time!!
