I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Sacred Herbs of Samhain and the Scared Herbs of Spring by Ellen Evert Hopman. They are More of the Celtic Base, but they are SO GOOD! I talked about them a few times and I sent them last year as a Yule Present for a Friend and she loves them as well. I want more of her books as well.
I just recently purchased the seventy eight degrees of wisdom by Rachel Pollack, and am so excited to start reading it! I feel like I always tend to buy tarot books that are more "here's the card and its meaning," but never actually read one all the way through cover to cover. Rachel's book seems like its more of a story telling of the history as well as each card with their deeper meaning, which I think will help with my understanding and mastery of the tarot. Love watching your videos! I watched your Pagan happy hour video last night about Imbolc, so it got me inspired to do some things to celebrate today. Happy Imbolc!
I just ordered The Sacred Mushroom and The Cross, Paganism: An Introduction to earth centered religions and Paganism for beginners. So I'm starting my pagan and witchcraft book collection now.
Probably my most used book is Rune Hjarnø Rasmussen’s “The Nordic Animist Year” I always reference the day and it’s associated rune couplets for divination purposes.
At the beginning of the video I got a good chuckle when, before you pointed out which shelves were the books you were presenting, you were talking about pagan & witchy books and I'm seeing Wyeth, the Louvre, James Herriott, Umberto Eco, Home Repair... :-) (Jokes aside, I now have an even longer "gotta buy these" book list...)
As I'm watching this I was curious. Have you ever done a video on your own personal grimoire? What you like to include? What style you do (binder, notebook, handmade, etc.)? Do you have more than one? Just something I would love to see.
'Encyclopedia of Witchcraft: The Western Tradition' by Richard Golden is the best encyclopedia on witchcraft out there. You can download it for free on Library Genesis, I wish I had a physical copy but it's expensive, about $100 used on Amazon. It's around 1200 pages long 'The History of the Devil: Horned God of the West, Magic and Worship' by R. Lowe Thompson (I got the hard cover marble looking one on Amazon, nice size). I love this book, saw it in Sarah Anne Lawless's shelf and bought it. 'The Migration of Symbols' by Count Goblet D'Alviella is pretty interesting
A nice book collection, Miss Scarlet :-) The Poetic Edda and the historical books about Egyptians and Norse caught my interest. Keep up with your small library :-D
Thank you for sharing! I highly recommend the Garden Awakening, especially since you will be able to garden now 💚. It has great Celtic traditions, garden design that work with the wild, and whimsical illustrations.
Really rich library you have. Symbolism and sabbats along with Wicca and Hinduism are subjects I'm interested in. It's also interesting that Taschen well known about its books on art, photography, cinema, design, architecture and fashion has published books on magick and occult, subjects not so easily accepted which is good since those are part of human acts for centuries and are present in all cultures, and in the end even if you don't believe in them is good to study at least for the cultural aspects of them.
Hehe.. I'm a bit more Old School.🏫 I'm a follower of The Golden Dawn; even though I'm Solitary. But my Text Book is " The Secret Teachings Of The Ages" by Manly P Hall..!😍 That's the Book that hit me with everything I needed to get on my way.👍🙏
@@TaurusVenus ... hehehe! I now have Three. The first one is in bad shape, about to fall apart. So I have the book and another large one with better pictures..😊💕
Hey Sara! We miss your vids. Hope you are doing well. PS Currently reading Witches Almanac 50th anniversary edition. Lots of useful tidbits. Cheers, your friend Mark
Frist of all i'm so excited about your favorite books look like my favorite topic (now,i have one book for my research, norse mythology 😅)that i craving to know Btw, thank you for sugest what's book that i should buy. *writing on the list*
Ooh, nice collection! One of my favorite books in my collection is one on Heka; The Mechanics of Ancient Egyptian Magical Practice by Robert Ritner. It's a good scholarly source that does a great job on what heka is, how it works, and it's different techniques. Really awesome book 😁
Great Books > I was Fascinated about Witch Flight and his book talks about old, current and shamanic descriptions of flight. I have been traveling Out of Body for over 35 years. The comparison is fascinating from witch flight and out of body. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing your collection with us Scarlet! Out of interest can you perhaps share where to get good information on Paganism online? I'm actually struggling in that department right now. Thanks so much :)
Great video scarlet.your collection looks very at home in your new house.A visit to pompiee is a must as there constantly finding new findings.you may like my fellow Country men ""The oak witch" she's a real book worm..imbolc blessings📖🐛🐈
I like the minimalism! Nice and balanced too. I keep running out of space for books and I feel like a hoarder. Gary and Pearson are really great authors. The Taschen books are really beautiful but their woke virtue signaling might not age well. I’d recommend anything by Nigel Pennick but I recently read Witchcraft and Secret Societies of Rural England. Definitely on the “nerdy historical” side of things and goes into detail about how folk beliefs have persisted into modernity. Really fascinating and lead to me diving into the rabbit hole of Renaissance and medieval magical beliefs. I’m really loving the history of ideas aspect. Our ancestors were hilariously insane. If you feel like you don’t spend enough of your money on weird books, check out the Foolish Fish UA-cam channel. He does great reviews and covers new books coming out.
What is your favorite pagan or witchy book in your collection? 📚
One of my favourites I got recently is tarot & tequila
@@ganymedesguide That sounds fun ;)
Anything by Nigel Pearson or Gemma Gary!
@@lindsayquigley5290 Yes! :)
I really liked Thorn Mooney's latest book "The Witch's Path" and just started Six Ways by Aidan Watcher, which is great so far!
Yes yes yes, please do a tarot & oracle deck tour!

Oh my goodness, I am so excited for this video. I've been waiting since I voted in the poll. Can't wait to watch!

One of my favourite books, is one that you mentioned, the Jackson Crawford translation of The Wanderer's Havamal
I'd love to see a video on your tarot collection!
Awesome book tour, some great recommendations to put on my list!

OMG, thanks a bunch. I added several of your suggestions to my amazon list.
So many interesting recommendations. Saving the video for later to go through it again and consider new additions to my personal library.

Great video. My favorite witchy book is A deed without a name and The Crooked Path. Of other books I have to say Poetic Edda.
I’ve been to Pompeii and it is breathtaking!! I hope you get to travel there one day, it’s definitely worth it! ☺️
