Erika is a marching song used by the German military. The march was composed by Herms Niel in the 1930s, and soon became used in the Wehrmacht, especially in the Heer, and to a lesser extent in the Kriegsmarine. "Erika" is both a common German name and the German word for common heather, a common sandstone plant.

And this proves that Armies that sing while they march lose every war they have ever started. Think of all the armies that sing, you know, and cadence, marching songs versus those that don't and you will see what I mean. I rest my case.
Look. I understand that English may not be whoever the video maker's first language. But when I read the second part of the forewarning, I felt like I was a tourist talking to an officer in a border checkpoint of Nazi Germany and being warned about seeing Nazi stuff should I enter. It sounded as if he was telling me to turn back immediately if I felt sick upon seeing the country.
It was the Soviet Union that beat Germany in WW2, not England or the USA. The last 2 contributed significantly, but it was Russia that killed by far the most German soldiers and suffered the most dead by far in return. The UK and USA like to promote that they won WW2 for the purposes of internal pride and patriotism and for rallying their people against the post-1945 threat of Soviet dictatorial expansionism, but that is simply propaganda, justified during the Cold War.
@@themudthedirtandthesand9079 You are absolutely right, the Americans entered this war in 1944 by landing in France, when it was already clear to everyone that the days of the Third Reich were numbered.
@@themudthedirtandthesand9079 Stalingrad was a decisive battle and the Soviets did indeed make monumental sacrifices, but it would have been for nought had the Allies lost the Battle for the Atlantic, the Battle for North Africa, and the second/third fronts (Italy/France) as well as the battle for air superiority over Germany; it was the Anglo-American alliance which won these key battles. Moreover, the Soviets had nothing to do with defeating Japan until the very end of the war. Beating Japan was primarily a British/American victory. It's true that the Soviets played a necessary role in defeating Germany, but it was hardly a sufficient contribution to winning WW 2. No serious person in either the US or UK contends that the Soviets were not key in beating the Germans.
