@@ToiletStory I saw the push button above the rotary valve and surmised that was the original flush mechanism for a flushometer (now bypassed or removed) since it still runs continuously in manual mode when you rotate the water valve. So there's no tank involved. So instead of repairing the flushometer they took the flushometer out and put a manual valve in. Cheap landlords! Flushometers are not cheap. They're on most commercial toilets in North America and only in large high rise residential buildings from 1900 through 1970. Then lower water usage standards came in and they've been replaced by tanked toilets where applicable and in all new residential high rise builds since then. Most newer hotels/motels have tanked toilets as they're 1/3 the cost of a commercial one plus flushometer. But they're very prone to breakdown where parts wear out. Flushometers rarely break down, only after 50+ years or so. Tank parts it's like every 3 - 5 years depending on water conditions and use.
Yes that is a bidet, everywhere in Italian appart and hotel We used them some years ago in France now they are becoming old fashioned and most of them have disappeared But still nice to see them in some countries
Looks like a DIY auto flush cinverted to manual valve. How cheap can they get...?
@@jbsimmons54 I have no idea to be honest, those set up are common in Milano but I think it is the Italian standard flushometer
