In the past I was actually jealous of Blackberry at one point because of so many keys it had compared to my phone with just 12 ++ keys. +lite I would say that depends on the server load. If there are many people uploading at the same time, or if one of the servers is down, the other ones will have to substitute for that, leading to an increase in time for processing the video on higher quality levels.

even as a fan of HTC and an M8 user, I very definitely agree that the A9 is the biggest letdown of the year. it would have been SO easy for HTC to knock it out of the park with another extreme premium phone, but no... ditched their famous One design for a complete ripoff of the ip6 (which now makes HTC permanently look like a cheap iphone ripoff brand), and (more importantly for me) THEY DITCHED BOOMSOUND. FUCKING WHY. I use it so often I wouldn't even consider a phone without it, and they could've just put the fingerprint scanner on the back. Their 2 biggest selling points, gone. They are on crack.

The iPhone 6S/6S+ Is so fast mainly because of the NVMe storage it has. Iphone 6S' storage is insanely more fast than any other phone storage solution. The A9 SoC sure is fast as well, but the NVMe storage really nailed the coffin on the phone's speed

I honestly wish that that's the way it stayed. Phones that are 6" and above are just being big just for the sake of being big. The compact 4.7" - 5.6" was honestly a good example of how you don't need a giant display to have a good phone. If apple would just put a headphone jack on the next touch if iphone (if they make one) I would honestly just buy that because some of these phones are just way too big for comfort and are just big for flexing something that isn't there

I think you should have another category. Audio. There are an increasing number of phones that have front facing speakers now. HTC One M9 still dominates in that department, probably followed by the other front facing speaker phones: Nexus 6P, Moto X, Xperia Z5, etc...
That's a pretty lame category.
yes they provide the capability, but the reason manufacturers don't make their phones speakers the first priority, is because they know the majority of people would use external audio.

I never use headphones for UA-cam anymore, and although they're not as good as Bluetooth speakers, they're good enough to make them redundant. The difference between these babies and a standard phone speaker is so obscenely massive that any phone without them is not worth even considering to me.

well the 6p has a better camera, and the one plus doesn't really take advantage of all of its RAM, but the one plus does have a better processor.....so it depends on what matters to you...

Great to see the love for MX Pure! I currently rock the V10. Came from Moto X Pure. If MX Pure had the V10 cam software and low light capabilities, I'm thinking it might have topped your list. The gesture controls, which are incredibly useful, combined with the near stock android make that phone amazing.

It's amazing how much phones have progressed in the last 5 years. I say 5 because we're currently at this path where they evolved, and now they have stopped evolving much. I won't lie I thought phones were as good as they get in 2015, but it's slightly comical looking back on this video.
Also Marques I don't think good phones have gotten cheap, in hindsight they have only gotten more expensive. Cheap phones getting good is very true however, as a cheap budget phone nowadays out competes all of them from 2015.
When 5.7 inch phones were considered big. Look how far we've come...

I was super excited that the Nexus 6P got such good reviews from you since I have one coming in the mail right now. I have heard in a few videos that the battery life wasn't super good on it despite it being over 3000 mah, so I'm wondering why you said it was so good?
I feel like the iPhone should be excluded from this competition. I mean, if you like iOS, then the iPhone is the only phone you are going to buy. If you like android, you have so many great choices to choose from. I don't think people are going to switch from an iPhone because of the camera or battery life. Also, people are not going to switch from android to an iPhone because of how fast the phone got. Is in it like a preference now. and subjective with the OS.

Nobody can really say "this or that is the best smartphone ever" but i see a lack of chinese smartpones on your review.
Redmi Note 3 is a kick-ass mobile, for only 210 bucks. And Allview (romanian brand, chinese made) P8 Energy has a 6000 mah battery, that keeps your mobile in stand by for over 8 days. As some chineze manufacturer, Oukitel, whitch just released a 10.000 mah battery.
And im talking about some cool specs, 5.5 or bibber screen, 3 gb or 4 gb ram, FHD display or bigger, FHD video recording (or 4k), and 13-16 mpx camera. And they are all so cheap, under 300 usd.
Im not gonna say im an smarphone guru, but in my oppinion u need to check them out, it willo be nice to have a review on some of that chinese "no-name" brands, with high-end terminals for a fraction of a samsung or iphone price.

Back when phones containing 5.7 inches screen were considered as *BIG* phones
I've gotta say that the race between the Note and Nexus is closer than previous iterations of each phone.
Touchwiz is lighter than ever and it seems that most of the hate comes from stigma rather than actual limitations or problems.
Nexus continues to offer fast updates and smooth performance at an inexpensive price.
If you like stock Android, fast updates, and the smoothest Android experience you can get, it won't even cost you the full price of a high-end phone.
Nexus is held by phone lovers as the pinnacle of smartphones and I understand why.
However, I would have given mvp to the Note 5 for a few reasons.
1.) Touchwiz isn't in the way and the Note 5 is very fast and fluid.
2.) The Note 5 does a better job utilizing a big display with the S Pen and multiwindow apps.
3.) Samsung Pay. Very underrated/not talked about enough. I barely carry a card around anymore.
4.) Compatibility with Gear VR- the best VR headset on the market. Google Cardboard doesn't compare. And Gear VR is the best accessory ever made for a phone. An absolute must-buy if you own the Note 5.
5.) The best camera on a phone to date. It's really gorgeous. And can clean up some generally low light pictures very well.
6.) Fast charging. This makes up for any shortages the battery may have. The Note 5 charges insanely fast. You can have 7‰. Charge it. Go make a sandwich. And come back to a phone on 35‰.
7.) Most major advantages Nexus 6P has, the Note 5 will eventually get. At some point, the Note 5 will get Android 6.0 You can change the ROM on the Note 5. The Note 5 already hast fast performance. The updates just take forever to come.
For me, the hardware benefits Samsung offers, make the Note 5 a far more versatile and more fun device to use. Paying everywhere with a phone is so much fun. Gear VR is so much fun. I even signed a creative license contract with this phone via the new PDF functionality.
Don't get me wrong. Fast updates, stock Android, and smooth performance are great. But I much prefer what Samsung has to offer at the moment. No question.
you didn't mention battery life. that was a big reason why I didn't go with the note 5

It's relative and it's all a comparison. If an iPhone or Galaxy Note 5 is in your price range, then a $400 phone could be considered a budget phone.

I would say Nexus 6p was the most all rounder smartphone a smartphone can be during it's time.
I'm rocking a LG G4 these days, and i still believe it's a great overall package. fantastic camera, great display, battery life could be a bit better, but still better than others. I'm happy.
+Michael Hell Im on the same boat, very happy with my G4 and looking to enjoy it for a long time, LG killed it this year but imo Samsung has the best publicity so LG went a bit underrated.
I still have the G3. Very very happy with it. Super snappy and fast still one complaint tho is the screen stopped working, at least I think it's the screen connection. It fades to black randomly when using it and u have to lock then unlock again until it lights back up
I had the g4 earlier this year also, the lg v10 feels incredible has larger and unique screen. you wouldn't be disappointed

+Michael Hell I have g4 too and I don't regret buying it at all it has a complete package, i believe the battery life will get a lot better with marshmallow.. The only thing I wish g4 had is an AMOLED display, even trough it has the best IPS display on the market, it still doesn't compare to sammy's latest displays in any category, not even in brightness.. A more mature design to it's UI it's very welcome too

+minjod Huawei should have got the most improved imo this year. They have been pretty much ignored for the last few years but this year, they made the 6p and the Huawei watch, one of the nicest looking watches out there.

Dear i know that nokia is releasing 41 mp camera phones but I've personally used lumia1020 & i m not really impressed specially what I expected from 41 mp . It is just as good as 13 or 16 mp camera
+neel desai i don't care for the MP, I believe in the quality of a sensor and lenses at a lot of people say. MP aside, i have read, or seen in other channels, that the Lumias have good cameras. This I understood not because of the MP but because of sensor quality and particularly lenses quality.
Photocameras aside, I think that the lack of Windows phones from channels like this is not very right just from a comparison standpoint. The big selling point and contrast between Android and iOS is the tighter Apple ecosystem. Thing that is somewhat offered by MS as well. Also they've done some pretty decent cheap phones.
With the arrival of liquid cooled(!) phones I would expect that extremely techy channels would talk about those at least.

yes, i too find interesting the possibility of using a phone as a desktop machine. Also to mention and comparison (in the video) that the Lumia has replaceable battery, on top of USB-C and inductive charge, so it quite deserves a mention at least for that. And watching a review there are several other interesting aspects (although the experience is not painless as it should).
In terms of iPhone I wouldn't know that to share really. I've recently found out that there's an aftermarket glass screen protector that allows you to tap at the bottom of the phone, where Android phones have the back and multitask inductive buttons, to reach for commands at the top of screen, instead of using the Reachability function. Look it up if you feel the need ;)

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't see it on the table. That would had become my go to phone but the phone never reached to Finnish markets. ahh this is my life now, I guess.

No love for Zenfone 2. I'd say it's the best budget phone (or at least runner up). 5.5in screen, 1080p, Quick Charge 2.0, NFC, Micro SD, Dual Sim, and 4 GB of RAM, for $300 ($200 for 2 GB of RAM)

+johnX03 It doesn't, even though this has 4GB RAM, RAM speed is slower than most of the 3GB phones. Asus really doesn't know how to manage this phones RAM, hopefully they will fix the RAM management issues in the next update. Having a 32bit OS on a 64bit kernel and 64bit chipset doesn't help either.

+James Thomas , yesss, but for the Nexus6P as I had tried it once ,the camera is on par, screen a bit dimmer than Note5 but the 6P smoothness, stability and finger scan are phenomenon ^o^

Yeah, would want to see a lumia 950 XL review. You have to give recognition to Microsoft for making such a great phone. In fact pay more attention to Microsoft. They've done so much to improve on their smartphones.
