In this video I implied that you can only power objects by connecting them directly to the Controller block. I'll be sure to address this in my follow up video (coming soon), but it's worth noting that the power from the Refined Storage controller is shared from any block touching the controller. So you could put down a controller, put a crafting grid on top of that, a fluid grid on top of THAT, and a disk drive on top of THOSE! All would have power. Sorry I didn't make that clear in this video. Next time!! :)
DEAR GOD the dozens of videos on these two mods have been driving me crazy. Almost everyone of them talk so slow that on 2x speed they still sound like theyre poppin zanny bars, talk for like 10 minutes about other things in minecraft or worse briefly throw out every bit of info basically straight from the mod page but show like 3-4 things in their video while they continue to ramble (like in the middle of an explantion of 'how to' then start talking about the mats then what dimensions you have to go to to get them and what in their opinion is good gear to take with you and then why they think its good gear LIKE YO GET TO THE POINT). YOU LITERALLY COVERED THE BASICS IN 10 MINUTES. Great video thank you. subbed p.s. ik im butthurt.
Want to make a side note to the fluid grid. The fluid grid or any other block doesn't need to be conected directely to the controler. For example in your case, if you put the fluid grid next to the crafting grid it will work, since the crafting grid is already conected to the controler.
I think I did demonstrate this but now I'm not sure... lol! In any case yeah, I guess I did accidentally imply that you could *only* hook things to the controller. Oops! Thanks for pointing that out. I'll need to fix that in the follow-up video.
Update! 5.8.22 Immersive Engineering has a fast way to generate power and it's quite fun. Look up "How to: Immersive Engineering | Power Generation (Minecraft 1.16.5)" by Mondays. Create three water wheels from that mod, hook up the dynamo from the water wheels (3x wheels per dynamo) and then from the dynamo to an lv capitor next to the controller and poof, infinite power :)
I'm stuck between either just doing a Redstone related storage system (because I like how it ends up looking with all the different Chests with one specific item per chest) or this mod (because it is so much easier to just have everything in one spot) Decisions.
The mod runs off Forge Energy (AKA Redstone Flux [RF]) which means it's compatible with any mod that uses Forge Energy. This includes but is not limited to : - Mekanism - Industrial foregoing - Immersive engineering - Big(ger) Reactors - Powah Etc
I hooked up the external storage to the controller like you have and it only shows the one drawer. All other connected drawers don't appear in the grid. Am I missing a setting perhaps?
Refined storage is waaay easier than ae2 but ae2 reminds me old times so i use it just for nostalgia. But hey ae2 has much more features that you can use if you are expert enough
Refined Storage has always been simpler BUT it's always created lag on servers with lots of people using it. AE2 is more complex and stable. Usually. That said, Refined Storage may have improved since the 1.16 iteration? There's also a LOT more debate out there but these are just my own pros and cons.
AE2 is significantly more powerful. Refined storage is significantly more refined meaning you can get your storage system up and running with less hassle than getting the AE2 system running. The two reasons why you would want to run AE2 is because you like the complex system design and because you can actually make use of the unique features of AE2.
This was very informative, but I play on the “Team Rustic” modpack, and I’m struggling to find a reliable power for the controller (small solar panels keep making the whole system shut down every time its power flickers). Is there anything you would recommend?
Not sure what power mods are available in that pack sadly. Lately though I've been a big fan of "Powah!" - Prior to that it was one of the "Reactor" mods... Which now I'm forgetting the name of.
You would likely need to pair this mod with *some* kind of mod that provides power. You could look into a mod called "Simple Generators" to start with. Failing that, you could just cheat in the "creative controller" which will give you all the power you need for Refined Storage.
It’s an elevator block, pretty easy to make you put one at whatever level you want to be on and then another one directly over or under it and it’s like an elevator

“Let’s open you the floor here with a *shovel*.” lol

Im new to refined storage and this was an amazing tutorial to get me started!! Thank you!!

thanks man it really healped
Glad to hear it!!
Your discord link expired could you please provide a new one? I have questions about this refined storage mod.
thank you so much this helped a lot
Mekanism energy works with this mod?
It should, yeah! I think I tested that during a livestream.
The mod runs off Forge Energy (AKA Redstone Flux [RF]) which means it's compatible with any mod that uses Forge Energy. This includes but is not limited to :

Hi just wondering is it possible to move the entire storage set up if i wanted to move to a different location
In controls where do you go to set 'R' so it creates the shovel without you having to put each individual item in?
"R" Pulls up the recipe and then I just hit the "+" symbol to move the items to the crafting grid. Hope that helps!
What do i do i cant put items in crafting grid i followed every step too and i have storage disk but still cant put in items pls tell
clear and to the point
thanks

It might be a bug. In previous versions, I had to remove a cable or even the external storage itself and then put it back down.
@@Vortac Thanks for the reply. Looks like I wasn't hooking it up to the bottom of the controller.
what thing on the floor that can teleport to underground
Sheer amount of “stuff and things” lmao
What are the pros and cons of ae2 vs refined storage?

@@Vortac i've never played on modded servers so i didn't knew about it. I was explaining my thought referring to singleplayer worlds ^_^
For sure! I'm mostly drawing from my own experiences. Your points are also very valid here! 😁
So it's pretty much applied energistics ripoff? Is there any point to use this as opposed to the old good AE?
not really lol
its like coke and pepsi same thing tbr
what is the best mod to create power for this?
preferably one that is simple
I like "Powah!" myself. :)
hey can i also make a chest wall or not, or only the one chest will be conneted
what is the teleportion pad thingy mod called? i'd love to know
I believe you're referring to my elevator. (if they're in you're modpack they'll show up in JEI under the term "elevator") 😊
How can ı regulate it i cant do it manual
Refined Storage is better than AE2, change my mind.
Hey, you're not gonna hear an argument from me! haha
anything is better than getting certus quartz

Lol i created a modpack that actually have both
You know if IE is out for 1.16 yet only coz refined storage , IE and Xnet are 3 of my favourite mods. Nice vids btw
Nice! Thanks for watching!
Refined storage, mekanism, and create is 3 of my fav mods

Okay, thanks for the help!
can you recommend me a cheap power support i can use , i am not playing a mod pack or any think .
You would likely need to pair this mod with *some* kind of mod that provides power. You could look into a mod called "Simple Generators" to start with. Failing that, you could just cheat in the "creative controller" which will give you all the power you need for Refined Storage.
Rf energy i think should work as well, but simple generator is easier
im having issues with this because i cant put items into the grid so can someone help me?
I did I already found out I was using a fluid storage drive not the normal one
How did you teleport down like that ?? :O
ae2 : im i a joke to you ?
hehehe
Whats that block you use to go up and down between levels?
It’s an elevator block, pretty easy to make you put one at whatever level you want to be on and then another one directly over or under it and it’s like an elevator
So how can i get the wireless crafting grid? Any addon or something
It's in the mod! You need to craft it and then a couple of other blocks in order to make it work.
So its like AE2 ?
Yes only... Better. 😂
Anyome got a standalone generator mod?
RF Tools Power is currently 1.16.3 if you're interested! www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/rftools-power/files
how is he teleporting up and down what is the block name?
That's done with an "Open Blocks Elevator" :)
hi agin i needs help at set true experimental forgelight pipeline enabled
plz make video how to
Not sure what that is.... :/
This its like a copy of applied energistics 2?
It's a simpler version of AE2, but yes they're very similar to one another.
do you know a mod to create energy for this mod in 1.16.2
I like the Thermal series. (Thermal Expansion, etc.) There's also Powah!
This is simple AE2
Yes!
How tf do I power it
You'll need an additional mod for power. Or you could cheat in a "creative controller" like I did to make the video. 😂
@@Vortac I sat here for like 2 hours tryna fig out how to power it, do you know any additional mods for it?

Thanks for watching!
Got so exited only to find out this was a forge mod and not a fabric mod
forge mods seem more powerful, why u prefer fabric?
