    Well atleast you could never accuse a player of faking injury when they got too close to big Dunc and went down, he really hits them. Don't misunderstood me, I don't think it's good being too agressive in the pitch, but you can see this kind of players (Ferguson, Keane, Stam, Vieira, Puyol...) actually made football feel different than nowadays. Courage, commitment...

    • @megmisakiou3161
      @megmisakiou3161 2 роки тому

      Man, many people like the agressive bad boy style of Keane Ferguson stam, I also some times like there fights , that's human nature.. but actually in the technical side they are not mentally fit, many times they couldn't control there anger and it leads to red card thus there team suffering the loss. And the captain controls team and leads it but if the captain is a hot head or he loses it the whole teams energy becomes negative thus agressive ..It happened at many el clasicos where Ramos was the captain , Cox he is a player who couldn't manage his emotions and starts to play dirty thus the majority of the team sub consciously follows it.. it's fun to watch those kind of moment Cox it's in the human nature. But in actual it shows the weak mentality of the player and that he is not fit to lead the team, another example is zidanes headbutt at wc final against italy. Zidane is undoubtedly one of the best players this sport has seen and most decorated players of all time and one of the best coaches ever. As some one who research football ,Zidane when he was young or at the first stages of he's career he couldn't control his anger thus ended up with 14 red card in his career. But with time he became commited, disciplined and over came that weakness but some times in between he got a few red cards. But again after some time in the world cup he had a red card. And it cost him a world cup. Cox in the penalties trezeguet missed. If Zidane was not red carded he would be there to take the penalty instead of trezeguet. There are some top class players like ibrahimovich , Rooney, neymar ,c.Ronaldo still who haven't learnt to control it. Now also if in a match things start to to sour for them ,they start to lose it.. and there are some players who couldn't control it at early stages of the career but as time goes they learned to manage it ,like Messi,Di Maria ,Verrati suarez and many more.. but puyols name doesn't come in any categories mentioned here.. puyol was one of the rarest combination of a player who plays physically a hyper warrior style yet in the mentality he is calm and in control of his emotions.. it's a very difficult thing to do unless u have a very highly mentality... I remember in matches when he was substituted due to injury or any other reasons opposition teams used to give him standing ovations.. and the biggest rival of Barca r.madrid also appreciated him.. I remember in one match a player slapped puyol , and ronaldinho saw this and starts to run at that player, puyol then runs and comes in between the guy who slapped him and held ronaldinho back. This shows how mentally fit he is 99 percent people couldn't do that, imagine a guy slapping u and u save him from Ur friend.. he knew that he is the captain and if he participates in that the majority of the team will..and in one el clasico match when Barca were trying to take a corner kick , Madrid fans started to throw bottles and things to the pitch and a lighter or something hit on piques head , he took it and started walking towards the ref to complain but puyol ran to him and took the lighter and threw it off the pitch and told him let's carry the match on , so nobody complained and the playing was not stopped.. that shows how commited and aware you are of ur role as a captain.. and also in one match d.alves scores and in the celebration d.alves and abidal started to dance in front of the home fans as they sometimes celebrate. Puyol runs to them and scolds at them and pushes them on the pitch as he thought dancing to celebrate Infront of the home fans was not right.. in that match puyol got a injury and when he was subbed other team gave a standing ovation to him... My point is that he is not like other player u mentioned , he was the most decorated captain of Barca by winning Sextuplete ( 6championship trophies in one season) yet he was no showboating. And he scored a crucial goal in wc semifinal against Germany to take Spain to the finals. , the legend who at his prime used to give Zidane, Brazil Ronaldo , kaka c.ronaldo and other top strikers a hard time couldn't keep up to his standards after the injury.. so he was so straight forward about it , it showed that he accepts that he is not that good now ( u might think that this is a easy thing to accept that u are not at Ur best,but no it's a very hard thing . C.ronaldo and Messi after dominating the football world for 15yrs , they are not as good as they used to be. And that's not something shocking or something u need to be ashamed of or something u need to be frustrated.. but Messi and Ronaldo now can't score the solo goals they used to score or the consistency is now not there yet u find both of them frustrated by this and sometimes in the matches lately it gets the better of them.. so a player accepting that he is not at his prime needs a strong mentality and character.. I took this point jux to give a real example,not to criticize Messi or Ronaldo) in the press conference he told he now no longer have the capacity to play for a club like Barcelona and he retired and after the injury also he was still better than Maguire, Shaw and some other defenders who play for some clubs.. but he put he put his club before him. If he wanted he could've played 1 and a half season more..but he knew it would make some damage to the defence so he stepped away..So bro that's y u can't put puyol on that list with them.. no offense
