everybody needs to search for a previous version of his driver. This is the solution.I had the same problems with my M-audio AIR 192| 8 soundcard.I was decided to send it back to the seller but now is working and the sample rate remains unchanged
Hey guys, I had this issue with my M Track Solo. Uninstalling the M track drivers (In Windows -> Add or remove programs) so that the interface works as a USB AUDIO CODEC fixed the issue for me. Hope this helps anyone else researching this issue.
Yes this is a big problem ,I use reaper and and m audio 192/6,the laptop is on windows 11 and even though I set the audio input to 480000 at 24 bit depth ,as soon as I use reaper it changes to 32 bit. No matter what I do with the buffer after about 1 minutes recording buzzzz crunch death metal sounds. Am thinking only way out is flipping tape recorder! Beyond a joke. Life shouldn’t be this hard I just want to record my songs. Good luck
I've been battling this for years. For me, it changes to the next possible sample-rate option every time I close OBS. But ONLY if I use it as the monitor out for OBS. If I only use it as an audio input it stays put
The ONLY SOLUTION is to keep the windows audio panel open while using the M-AUDIO to record. In this case your setting will not be changed. But this is not really a real solution.
I have an audient evo 8. My DAW application has a sample rate of 44.1khz. But when I play something on youtube while the DAW is in use, the sample rate of the laptop changes to 96khz, accompanied by a pop sound. It's like my laptop is forcing me to work in 96khz when I actually don't want to
This seems to be a problem between the interface software and windows. Leaving the interface software and Windows Sound open seems to stop the sample rate changing. I ended up changing to a Rode NT1 5 Gen and using on USB to avoid these problems.
Fking SAME and it CRASHES MY PROGRAM and CUTS THE MIC during STREAM so I have to restart entire stream which is NOT GOOD. Often have to delay that by restarting PC to clear any weird interactions, then open sounds/recording etc and switch the stupid sample rate BACK to 24/48. And often windows will FIGHT ME on that, immediatly reverting it multiple times to 32/41....ANNOYING!!!!!!
I have the same problem, it changes the moment i open Amplitude 5 and the sound starts to click, for some reason the setting changes to 44100hz in INPUT but the OUTPUT stays the same.
@@mikestechtips2025no bro. let him start off with you said for him, starting off with that rate, on modern computers it’d be the cpu messing on the way you record your song. there’d be more latency involved.
Open your Daw, if you have any interface with 41000, just connect that one on your PC. Unplug it(interface ) when the project is still open and connect it with M Track Audio interface, it's going to change automatically
@@michaelchung5228 yeah, if they'd just update their drivers all of these issues would likely go away. It's criminal that they're still selling these and advertising them as compatible with w11 lol
I think i found a solution BUT not 100% sure. I reinstalled windows without the interface plugged in , no connection between the PC and the interface. After i finished installing Windows , i installed the official driver from M-Audio , shutdown the PC and plugged in the interface. It seems to be working , but need to test more.
@@michaelchung5228 Since reinstall i'm no longer having issues , make sure you install the drivers before plugging in the device , so windows doesn't install generic driver for it , that's when the conflict occurs.
Solution: Go to Audio settings on Windows, - TURN OFF Audio input M-Audio AIR - then change with M-audio Control Panel Tool the Sample Rate to 44100 -Turn On M-audio Input on windows and this will fix the problem.
im going to try to install linux at some point, goodbye windows. If anyone using linux is seeing this i would be grateful to hear if it works (i think it will and likely no linux user will come since they got no issues , lol )
Im glad to come back and report that i got this machine working as supposed to on linux. Im still testing but so far it does work without issues and i can use all my audio hardware same time, meaning that i got discord voice chat on, audio coming from separate set of headphones, blue yeti usb mic to send sound there, speakers playing youtube and yet i can use this audio interface as its meant to work with no issues.
You would assume that dropping $200 on an audio interface there shouldn’t be problems like this; yet hear we are.
I agree, it's just sitting in a draw now lol
I appreciate usb mic more now lol
Guys this is a driver issue!! M-Audio needs to fix this asap.
I contacted them too but don't think they answer anytime soon....
Makes the device almost unusable

Works for me. Thank you!
Thanks SO much! Been struggling with this for ages and finally the problem is solved! Much appreciated.
works!!ty
Thanks for this, but now it doesn't have an option for 24bit. Same for you?
it's a partial fix, can't set bitrate higher than 16 bit

Hi, no. I ended up buying a USB mic. Sounds just as good but none of these weird problems LOL.

how do i change my microphone's sample rate to 16000hz if i dont have an option for 16000hz???

Is you interface an m track too?
@@michaelchung5228 It doesn't keep the sample rate and changes it by itself

Yes 🙂

Thanks. The M-Audio app is greyed out and locked at 44100. So far is still on 24 bit.
