I come back to this concert video like once a month from the moment I discovered it a decade ago. I'll never get tired of this perfect performance 💯sound and the camera work are just perfect, not to talk about the band members themselves. 😮
I may be wrong, but I think Martin played a total of 8 different instruments in this one concert, 2 of which he made himself, and Evelina and David each played 5 instruments. Now that is an incredibly talented band.
I never comment on videos. Ever. Americans make crap for music and get famous and make millions off of total garbage. This is the epitome of amazing. The musicianship is flawless. The sound is genius. I wish the best for your group and hope you make it big. You deserve it! Best wishes!
+Chase Mitchell so you've heard every American musician from every time period? you should go back to not leaving comments, quit ankle biting, and reduce the overall negativity of youtube.
+SpywareEverywhere I am talking about mainstream. Most of the stuff played on the radio and the "famous" consists of a total lack of musicianship. Songwriters write music for "artists" and it's all repetitious nonsense. Overworked tracks that make the sound engineers the true artists. While Wintergatan not only create their own instruments, play multiple instruments, create an artistic feel and scene. You may consider what I said to be negative, and I can see how that may be true. If you have a band, group, or whatever here in the states and you are making millions and it is up to par with true musicianship, then good for you.
+Chase Mitchell Mainstream is boring everywhere because it's all playing to the lowest common denominator. It's why your comment was ridiculous because it brought in national prejudice where it wasn't needed. Nationalism is incredibly blind. All large countries have pop music, and they have great music. Given enough people, you're going to get all kinds of music, and all kinds of people to like all kinds of music. Wake up. It's not America vs The World. It's just people.
+Chase Mitchell I agree with you! American music, or the stuff that is highly popular in America right now, is nothing but noise. I don't like rap, never did. I can't stand it. The head-banging stuff hurts my ears and makes no sense to me. And the heavy metal stuff with gagging "vocalists" sounds satanic to me. I guess I gave up on any new music about 20 years ago. One cannot walk down the sidewalk singing "today's music" without being arrested for profanity.
Such a wonderful band outstanding live performance. Everyone is so very talented. Even the lighting. It all works so well with somewhat odd instrumentation. Every song is a journey. I’m 70 years old and very happy to have found you. I❤️ these guys.
Almost all bands are like leader (usually vocalist) and supporting him instrumentalists. In Wintergatan everyone is a great star!!! Thank you guys! You're amazing!
ALL THE EFFORTS THEY PUT IN !!!! A must see live band : a bit of punk , a bit of trance , a bit of pop , a bit of rock , a bit of world music , abit of ...... I wonder how I would experience a concert of them here in holland while enjoying a nice smoke and a beer ?!
Vern Hibbard, generally yes, but the States could very easily fill a venue of this size, probably even larger with his popularity from UA-cam. But at the time of this concert, probably not unless he was part of a music festival.
What was that? Prog Rock, Music Box, Synth Pop, Classical, Blues, Metal, Funk? I’ve never really heard the like. And playing a theremin in live performance? That takes real skill. Haven’t seen anyone pull that off since Jimmy Page. Oh, and not to mention Martin playing an instrument HE invented (as you do). Incredible. More please.
This music brings back so many childhood memories, i used to got to a musical school playing the horn, and there was music coming out of every room while i was waiting for my lesson to start and i remember allways looking through the keyhole of the door of those guys playing orchestra xylophone, absolutely amazing.
Ok I play in a UK rock covers band (hobby not pro) and I tell you the wonderful marble machine has brought me here to hear you guys play. You are sensational and extremely accomplished musicians! Please come to the UK and somehow bring that machine with you, I would love to hear it and you guys live!!!
+Adrian Shingler I suppose the machine is nigh impossible to move abroad unfortunately. It was not made for this. But I hope they'll come to Paris. With or without the machine.
Absolutely GREAT!! I follow you since ths last year, and you are INCREDIBLE!! I'm music professor in Chile, and any time I can, with my students analize your themes, harmony, instruments, rythm, etc... (their favorite the is 'Tornado') This a very creative work, be proud of that! My sincere congratulations for your work. Let know when you gonna visit southamerica... Cheers! Rod
every time i watch this i'm always amazed by the number of instruments each person can play. they all look like they are having a great time playing anything.
I've never seen something LESS boring! absolutely insane. the instrument (and playing) at 31:00 is incredible. fallen in love with wintergatan. including the marble machine, which has blown me away. In awe right now :)
meaning of "least" as in theres nothing more interesting and as for Scott Linden, search up Detektivbyran "In August 2010, the band was dissolved and clearly stated on their official website that they would not make any more music or live performances under the name Detektivbyrån. In September 2012, Martin announced that he was producing a new album. His new band Wintergatan released their first album in 2013. The new band includes Marcus Sjöberg as well."
Scott Linden if nothing else is 'less boring' then this is the 'most boring' thing you've ever seen. If that is the case you should take up bingo. Or maybe underwater basket weaving. For godsakes, just the whistling alone makes this one of the top seventeen least boring things since the invention of the slinky.
This group's music brings joy and peace to me no matter what time I am listening. It's so pure and it's amazing to see the multiple skills of each band member. I came across them only a month ago but I'm happy that they made such music. Long back I used to get similar feeling listening to Yanni and Kenny G.
Gosh, this is beyond any band with vocals. They make all the instruments to sing in the most beautiful way possible. Could watch this my whole life. Those guys are genious in what they do...
Seems to me GOOD musicians are ALWAYS much better live than in the studio. Music comes from the heart and from the soul and the best music comes from those who really feel it and feed from the energy of their fellow musicians and the audience. It really is a beautiful thing. 2018 resolution is to go and see more of my favourite bands playing LIVE. Can't wait for Wintergatan tour of 2019! You guys ROCK. thank you for everything so far.
I've never been so much a fan of instrumental music But what I've been learning and different form of instrumental music is played beyond the classic Very good
Dude, right at the end there - RAGE against the machine - totally money - Never said this before in my LIFE - but... GO SWEDEN! You guys have every instrument there - amazing group of talented musicians. Keep up the good music ;)
You have never seen a more original set performed. I don't care where you call home, these kids made their own rules on this night. Amazing stuff this. Music theory taken to extreme levels. Awesome performance!!!!
I have listened to this 12 times or more!!!! I like this MUCH better than the studio versions - good energy! Put a copy of this on amazon for sale and I'll buy it!
Keep coming back to this, great blasting in the car on the way back from work, had to sit and wait till the end when I got home, amazing. Can't wait till the MMX is done and they tour, hopefully not long now!

Amazing how they've progressed from this... once you know the songs in their 'current' form (early 2018 for me!) it's amazing that they've changed so much (love both versions, both amazing!)
I really love this long Spieluhr intro, i think its better than the LP Version of Sommarfågel, what amazes me how tech savy these guys are, they could sample all those sounds and probably play it easier, instead they go exactly the opposite way and go analog as much as possible.
So...this is like a band of people as talented as Beck..all playing crazy shit together. It's epic and amazing! Check out the bassnectar cover of Sommarfagel
Hi there! I ended up here by chance after watching Wintergatan's 30K marble machine fix ( 5th Dec 2020 ). It feels like we're watching an HDR version of each of you tonemapped to a given instrument at a given time. Fabulous!
Awesome ! I was in Finland last summer and I never got to go to Sweden before my time ran out, Sweden I promise I will come visit you next time I'm in Finland !!!
The US is a long way from Sweden. They would have to put aside a lot of time and money from their schedule just for a few concerts. It seems unlikely that they will come to the US anytime soon. Definitively planned though. They want to go on that world tour badly. At least Martin does not shut up about it :P. If I didn't live in Colombia, where there is no chance they'll come (or if they do I'll just straight up jizz in my pants :VVVV) i'd most definitively go and listen to them. They are one of the few bands I think completely deserve to fill the biggest stadiums, though they don't quite do that yet :D.

The whistle.
I don't think the guy with the bass is David.
@@blippitybloppityturtleface6923 You may wish to reconsider that ascertation.
To this day Starmachine2000 is one of the most uplifting songs I ever heard. Still hoping for a comeback tour!

I'm afraid the States isn't quite ready for a band with an accordion!!! The music is second to none ... please don't get me wrong!!

Not your typical "band" that is for sure. Very cool. Come to the US. I will buy a ticket.
The so called "nerds of the class" started a band! Mixing underrated instruments with technology! :P
they will make a world tour once the MMX is completed, follow along on Wintergatan's YT: ua-cam.com/channels/cXhhVwCT6_WqjkEniejRJQ.html
