I didn't like Monroe at all in his early days, but this time he almost had Quinnan bang to rights! I think they both improved as the years went on, though by the end I was beginning to lose my liking for them again...
I have to agree that his comments on George and Reg apparently having low Arrest Rates is contradictory. Surely, if you're getting les and less arrests, it means you're doing a good job at preventing crime?
@@flashstudiosguy If you do nothing, you get no arrests. However, I think the arrest rate is overly simplistic. Ron, when he set up his community liason office leter, would have hoped to be highly successful, ut have no wish to arrest anyone.
Ah, but that girl could have proved Dave acted improprietly by giving her his phone number - She could have handed it to Monroe, and all he would have had to do was call it while Dave was off-duty : "Yeah, Dave Quinnan, who's this ?" "Morning, Dave ! This is Inspector Monroe - My office first thing tomorrow. "
@TubbsFarquhar Hey bruv' thanks for the updated clarification, I don't know much about Joanna Thaw, I will however look her up. I remember reading somewhere that Dave's character was originally using scripts that had been written for dodgy copper Pete Ramsey. As a whole, Ramsey would be more likely than Dave to pull a stunt like this.
@@BenBanjo87 I watched this and was properly outraged! Like wtf Dave and was hoping he'd have a change of heart. I wonder how this was viewed by the public in the early 90s.
@@randomjrr1422 Even though quite likeable, Dave was really cocky to start with and there were times he pissed me off like Ramsey used to, but he definitely pulled his socks up and turned into a damned good copper.
I love the way how Dave quotes what Monroe said to Sgt Peters !
The guy who played Austen (Sam James) was accused of dropping drugs was in a McDonald’s advert in the 1990’s

Monroe was often right _on paper,_ but he was still a maniac!

What sort of country is this anyway lol 🤣😂 only if you've lived there. Johnny Rotten once said "no future in England's Dreaming"
Good episode
Garfield may have no choice, but to say he saw the dope being dropped, as for Dave…
He could have told the truth and said no, so yes he did have a choice.
This seems properly out of character for Dave
