That was different … and interesting! The boat trip looked very peaceful…. And always time for coffee! Thanks for sharing … really looking forward to a tour of street food🙏🤩👏🏼😍
I don't know why most western people are so much attracted towards cremation ground in Varanasi...Coming to the holiest land but yet choosing to first go to place where dead are being buried when they have the holiest temple beautifully renovated right behind them...can't understand these western mindset.
Besides a handful of westerners, there were also thousands of local tourists wandering around here, so it's safe to say everyone is attracted to the Ganges!
Hindus cremate their dead, preferably this takes place beside some water body. generally some river & even the sea shore. It is not something special to Varanasi, but all along the Ganga River & other rivers cremation grounds can be spotted. The belief that once cremated at a certain spot one gets released from the cycle of birth is not applicable to Varanasi only but to several other places too like Puri, a holy town at the edge of the Bay of Bengal in Odhisa State. Here also the belief of release is there. Varanasi is NOT famous for the cremation ground but as it has hundreds of temples the most famous of them being the Shiva temple when is more than 5000 years old. Lots of saints lived there and did meditation throughout the ages making the space spiritually very vibrant. People thong there to get this vibration too.
I do not understand the fascination of western travellers of filming the burring of human corpses. People there are saying goodbye to their loved ones and it is an intense private moment. That should be respected.
