Yes. Indian music and Indian dance requires commitment practice, riyaz etc.. I am a Hindustani classical vocalist and I have been learning for quite a while and I have also learnt carnatic vocal in my younger days. It definitely takes lot of commitment and practice to master.

This form of purely Hindu form of arts originated some 4000years ago through the Sama Veda and Natya Shastra. Flamenco is born out of this dance only, even ballet has clear influences from Kathak.

I am sri lankan, I dance as a subject , I have to learn about these traditions, so this helped me a lot, very beautiful, thank you very much.
Having just come back from a flamenco performance in Spain I can see where the influence comes from clear as day. Kathak is truly the early flamenco.
Looks more like Tai Chi and Kung combined with moronic repetitive hand movements like holding an invisible tray with drinks than flamenco.
