- BMW E46 Coupe Rear window lower weatherstrip replacement full tutorial on my 2005 330Ci. There are three types of lower weatherstrip trim: Chrome, Black and Gloss black (Shadowline). To replace the trims you'll need;
-Cutting blades
-Plastic trim removal tools
-Sharp scrapers
-Masking tape
-Surface cleaner
-2x new trims (part numbers can be found on REALOEM)
If you're patient and want a nice finish it may take approximately 1-2 hours per side to replace these trims. - Авто та транспорт
Thanks mate, really helpful video. being able to do this without removing the window , seat and interior trim is great.
Thanks Mate! Excellent video! By far, the toughest part was removing the old adhesive. But I was hesitant to use anything very sharp on my E46 M3. I used plastic molding tools and Goo Gone. Parts were USD$35 each including tax and shipping. Thanks again and Cheers from Austin Texas!
Thanks for the video- Recently purchased a 325 CI and this job is on the list LOL Cheers Rick
Great video. Doing this repair on my ZHP coupe this weekend. Got both gloss black seals from FCP Euro.
CAN YOU SENd me the link to the one you bought?
Thanks for the demo. I’ll order mine up tomorrow.👍🇬🇧
have been looking for this on my zhp. nice.
Thanks Will. Great Video.
great, thank you!
Excellente vidéo ! Merci! Cependant, j'aimerais savoir où acheter ces pièces ? Merci
My 2004 coupe is silver with the chrome trim. The rear quarter especially the drivers side is perished badly. Now pricing rear chrome replacement for both sides is $275 USD however I've wondered what it would look like leaving the upper trim piece chrome but replacing the lower door and quarters with mat black? I can get a complete set of those for $140 not to mention the lower doors trim seals will need replacing sooner or later also.
I thought about doing this, and actually purchased the mat black ones however changed my mind in the end and went with the Chrome to keep it original.
I sold the mat black lower quarter windows ones but still have the mat black "shadowline" lower door ones. If ur in Aus let me know if you want them for cheap i can post.

Ez a videó igazán jó-ra sikerült!
Nektek melyik része tetszett a legjobban?
Hi mate great video! Did you purchase the part with the black gloss trim attached? Can you not buy a standard seal without the gloss black part and attach the existing shadow trim to it? Cheers mate!
Yeah the seal isn't sold separately unfortunately. You can find generic seals and attempt to glue them to the trim though. I don't remember part numbers but do recall lads in the forums finding a 3M seal that works. If you google 'e46 rear window trim seal replacement' and search for a while you'll find something eventually :)
Where can i buy them im having trouble finding the parts??
Where did you by the seal from
Hey mate, I am australia too... did you buy the weatherstrip from the dealership or somewhere else?
Clickable Automotive based in Victoria. They're the best! Email them what part numbers you need and they can source pretty much anything
Would have been easier to clean if you closed the window first. Good video
I would like to know where in Melbourne can someone do this for me...as I'm hopeless in repairing things...name a specialist....I have both sides to be done on my 2006 325ci
I'm not familiar with any workshops in Victoria sorry although I have heard good things about Southern BM. Its an easy job but probably 2 hours of labour - the OEM parts cost a lot especially for Shadowline!
Just curious to know if you found someone that would do it? I’m in Melbourne too. I’ll probably have a crack at it myself. Been meaning to for years lol.
Where u buy the seal?
Bmw
It's much easier if you put the window out. It will only take you about 5 minutes. And than you can clean it with a rubber in a cordless drill. Than you can put the new part better in place. But the rest was good
is it easy to remove window i might do mine
whats the part number?
51367891911 and 51367891912. These are the Shadowline part numbers. Chromed trims are different and also cheaper 👍
Cheers mate. Any chance you can sort mine for me. Bit of a daunting one this 😢
@@blackmansbavarian945 do you have the number for the little plastic end piece as well by any chance?
@@scotttaylor3977 51718195651 is the plastic plug
Where are you based? I'm in Adelaide. Pretty busy though!
Why bother when your paint work is that bad lol
i thought that, protecting a rear quart thats dented and marked all over lol, but good good video
