Reimagining Hitler's Legacy | What If Hitler Had Won The War

  • The documentary series "What If Hitler" explores the counterfactual development of history, imagining how the Nazi regime under Adolf Hitler and all those involved in the Second World War might have acted differently at certain points in the past.
    Numerous historians and scientists speculate on how Germany, Europe, and the world would have evolved if crucial turning points in the war had played out differently. Could the NSDAP have seized power if Hitler had died during his first coup attempt in 1923? Would the Communists have attempted to take control to bring an end to the Weimar Republic, or would the Weimar Republic have managed to recover and stabilize? Historians have been trying to answer these and many other questions for decades, but it is impossible to predict counterfactual history with complete certainty.

    Calling Nazi’s “right-wing” is already a little loose with the term when compared to the modern-day political compass but calling Nazi’s “conservatives” is just a flat out joke. Nothing is “conservative” about overhauling your entire system and installing a revolutionary government.

    • @wisecoonie
      @wisecoonie 9 місяців тому

      What are jou implying? That somply because of the word “revolution” the nazi’s actually were communists? Because there are right-wing idiots who nowadays claim that the nazi’s were socialists just because of the term national socialism. Now thát is a joke!

      @@gumdeo big fat nonsense. Nazi’s weren’t socialists in any way: they even persecuted the German socialists of the SPD and the USPD and put them in Dachau and other concentration camps, if they were not killed rightaway. The socialists were their political *opponents*! Stop your lies. Nazi’s were far right and extremely conservative and nationalist.

    No matter how you look at what might have been, the German position was never attainable simply because the Final Solution....plus overcoming Russia and the UK..was beyond Germany's ability.... one only has to look at the decision the US made to drop atomic weapons on Japan.... Germany could never have sustained multi-more million deaths of their own...to achieve success.
