NO!!! There has to be more to this! This was so well animated and executed. I’ve gotten attached to the robo dude so quickly, I wanted him to make it out! This needs to be a movie or another short to complete the story!

I feel terrible watching these. They always show greater quality and story than most big budget movies, than they just end on cliffhangers.

The Security robot's idea of "Capture" leaves a lot to be desired! It had a nice stop-motion look to it. Don't know if it was deliberate or not?
Very Cool. SHIT ENDING. As a story writer, The ending should be "The robot is powered up..again, because a stranger reboots it...He finds out, its 200 years later and technology has advanced. The robot is upgraded and lives on.... The END"

The irony is that is truth in fiction. As much as people worry about an uprising of Artificial Intelligence, batteries are actually quite terrible when it comes to powering delicate complex machinery, (such as a cell phone or lap top). Even for human beings who have to get artificial replacement organs, the batteries those things run on, at max, last four hours. They need to carry around two batteries plugged into them, (and two more in case of emergency failure) to get through their day and sleep while being plugged into a wall socket and those batteries are physically twice the size of old school Disney VHS tape boxes.
Until we can figure out proper battery storage and efficient energy usage, this was the truest example of an artificial intelligence running on its own power. It would likely get five minutes.

@@tyrellforrester7555 More believable would be it having an emergency backup battery in case of main battery damage that activates on main battery going offline, then it's a race to get to bottom of shaft to salvage the battery from the splatted security bot before the backup battery goes flat.
You know the director's good when you can get emotionally attached to a machine in under 5 minutes. In fairness, it was really a human in a robot body so I guess it's a little different but still.

Man has transferred his conscious in the robot but in the process something went wrong. That big robot might be the reason of something going wrong. System had to wake up the little robo earlier than intended just to escape that big robot. But in the end that was just to early.
🔵 It's all right to let robots do the assembly, but QA/QC should ALWAYS be performed by a human... Even Toyota knows that!
The end must be changed

As a result of a successful attack by the guard robot, the fugitive's battery was damaged. This can be seen if you look more closely.

🔵 He's going to be okay though, his consciousness is being held in a non-volatile memory, so as soon as he's finished being assembled and charged up he'll be fine. I mean, after all, even your PHONE doesn't lose everything in its memory just cuz the battery runs down!

Today I ordered Aukey's powerbank.
Here’s an interesting observation. All these animators simply HAVE to make their robots BLINK! Why? Blinking is an organic creature’s response to the need to clean and lubricate the conjunctiva/cornea. Robot “eyes” wouldn’t need this. But this seems to be a convention that animators adhere to, like the three-fingered hands of old fashioned cartoon characters.

My theory is that that man was the robot(although I kinda doubt it) and that it wasn’t his time yet or something and that’s why the big boy bot tried to capture (not kill) him.

I actually think that you're right. I mean the robot's reaction when seeing the man in the cryo chamber would have been one of shock if he were capable of displaying emotions, and the initial blueprints he looked at hinted at technology that could transfer human consciousness into a robotic body. plus when the security bot scanned the robot the robot is identified as "D4V-e, which if translated from leet speak becomes "Dave" (4=a and 3=e), and the human's name was Dave Wallace. so it makes sense that at some point the man known as dave was transferred into the robot and upon seeing his family picture decided to try and escape, but unfortunately he did not have enough power to do so. I would love to see this turn into a full-length film, though. it's really awesome.

One of the cruelest videos ever! just as your getting into it, it ends! I wish those who make shorts would follow the rules. The whole idea is that a short is a complete film in itself beginning, middle and ending. That said very well done.

This is pretty much soma. But less thought out. Why was he transferred to a half charged beat up body? This will always be al interesting concept but this time it was poorly executed.
Interesting for sure. My concern is that the unit would need to be a tethered unit as it's power consumption is extremely high.

🔵 Just after 2:20 when he turns and faces the oncoming robot, that robots digital display says "Target-identified...Capture", but instead of attempting to capture him it tries to kill him,... but, doesn't the protagonist WORK there? Why is a security robot trying to kill Personnel or company property, why doesn't he recognize one of his Masters?.....
...... I'm confused.
