Unfortunately the devs have stopped working on this game for the most part. 2.8 was planned and it was supposed to add mod support for quest. No more. Now theyre focusing on itr2. Kinda sad because i absolutely love this game but not habing acess to something so simple as the scavenger mod which adds all the loot to the drop tables, theres only so many times you can find the akm and not be bored.
It does make me extremely excited for the sequel though! Installing mods is not too difficult right now regardless though, I'll be doing some of that soon as well!

It took a good bit of building up to it! I have around 30 hours in the game and it was not easy to start. Having Twitch chat around also helps a lot! Unfortunately the game is just so much fun that I want to push through a lot of the fear to keep playing lol
listening to music can help, but make sure it's quiet so you can still hear enemies. every enemy makes sounds that tell you what type they are and where they are, which is a big help. just play slowly and listen carefully. i also recommend having a gun that you know is reliable, like the AK series or Mosin Nagant (if you use an AK, keep it on semi-auto).
If ya haven't played since ya posted this, I would just recommend going out during daytime hours only and sleeping in safehouses to pass the night if you're getting spooked. BUT, if you do play, I guarantee you'll get used to everything eventually and you'll figure out the world and not be terrified of it. Ya just have to get used to it (and the game is fun enough to be worth it). Also, keep in mind that each enemy ya kill is gone and won't respawn until the next Tide, so it's not too hard to clear entire maps of all enemies and then you can have leisurely strolls all over. The only catch is you also have to destroy the Rifts since they can spawn in enemies, but they're easy to find and destroy. With each enemy you kill you're making things easier on yourself, and after wiping out a map you won't be nervous about nighttime excursions. Hope ya have fun! It's the best VR game, in my opinion. Just practice with the weapons and you'll do great.
@@davidchandler5432 exactly this! I will warn you though, sometimes things will still sneak up on you and give you a tiny bit of a scare. It starts to turn less into fear and more into a quick adrenaline spike though, and that’s when things start getting REALLY fun
Knife only is definitely possible because some people have done runs with only darts as a weapon, you just need to learn some strategies on how to kill enemies with a knife.
Man, I love the bolt action rifle in this game… it’s just so satisfying to use. Also sniper rifle is superior compared to other games like zero caliber. Where full auto is just better because everyone has full auto and you have infinite ammo, so why use sniper at all. Ps. Knife does one shot Spawn but it’s very weird and it’s not always consistent, even with the survival knife.
You get it fairly early into the game! I’m not sure when you last played, but it could have been an update. I believe it showed up in my safe house after completing one of the first few missions
I got the game around Christmas and Been playing ever since. The object permanence aspect of this game is amazing. Especially for something on the quest. Usually games are low graphic and items despawn after some time. Not in ITR. I get home and begin to unpack and have loot that I remember exactly how I got it. Usually games don’t let you have things this long. Long enough to start having memories with it. I just upgraded to m9 after finding out it was meta but I had so many memories with my glock and I just couldn’t sell it. So I just put it in a shelf. Very amazing game.
Sniping is so rewarding in this game. Every shot counts, and if you know how to aim, ammo won't be a problem. Not to mention how good it feels to hear a screech after every hit. Too bad you can't adjust the fog on the quest two, makes long range scopes kinda obsolete. I absolutely love the Mosin and the SVD, especially the Mosin. Chambering every shot never gets old. As you mentioned, the game is filled with small details. Most of them just outright frightened me, trying not to think how life was for the survivors inside the radius. One specific encounter stuck to me: In Bolotsky Village, in the middle of the swamp, you can find a man and woman next to a small cottage situated on some pillars, with a ladder going up. If you strike one of them, they start talking about gathering supplies for the winter so they don't starve. Finding them petrified, knowing how that went for them... I grabbed a nade hidden in the stove and ran away. Beautiful video, keep up the good work!
when you said that the explorer is one of the few people "legally" allowed into the radius, it's more like: only former inhabitants are able to even get into the zone. and those who were in it during The Event, would die of organ failure within hours of trying to leave
Immersion and dread. Dread is the worst (best) part of this game. I'm happy that monsters don't just spawn in endless waves... (well... At least until the tide) but you CAN clear out a building and be comfortable that it's cleared (if you also take out the spawner anomaly) It's scary, dreadful, horrifying, and addicting. :)
I think it’s cause it’s so non-linear. We need more pcvr games that let you chill and exist in other worlds but with more focus and features then vr chat worlds
Quest is a lot more desolate. You PCVR players can find houses with fridges and stovetops while the most i can find it cabinets, desks, tables and a variations of those. it makes Pechorsk seem a lot more poor
Fun fact: is you go to custom difficulty and turn off monsters it will make it Easier for you at the cost of giving you more fear on thinking monsters are near
when the spawn jumps into the knife it sometimes gets oneshot. Kinda depends on how fast the spawn is moving. This can happen with both knives. It also depends on how fast you are swinging a knife or how much force you put into the stab if you will. I have had a spawn only get killed after 3 stabs, because I didnt put enought force into it.

Hello s.t.a.l.k.e.r! I feel you there, it’s one of the most immersive and beautiful experiences in VR. The peaceful moments really feel earned, and the beauty amidst the chaos is super unique.
This game really is something special, and i definitely can not wait for summer, when ITR2 goes into early access. If ITR1 is any indication, ITR2 will be fucking glorious.
@@dardarbinks17 agreed. and the new enemies look so good. Like the ITR1 spawn is a vague spideresque tentacle shadow thing... the ITR2 one is a bunch of scissors tangled the hell up in a bunch of old Videotape.
@@dardarbinks17 Oh it is bad. Pistol is only the TT and for guns you only get Mosin, wood stock PPSH, and SKS. But this also changes your equipment. The only armor allowed is the helmet, and can only use the F1 grenade, not even allowed your heal injection. Basically this run is only items you could get in WW2. Only exception is the scientific devices sense they are kinda required to beat the game.
I'm playing through on my Quest 3 at the moment but plan on doing another run on my PC to get those full graphical enhancements. Wish they had cross save so I could port my Quest 3 progress over to PC.
hey man im currantly playing throug the quest vertion of the game and i have to say, yeah it is a bit worse graphically and lags a bit but WOW. the game got me back into VR as a whole. it's been 6-7 moths sinse i played a VR game before last week when i downloaded it, and i am planing to make a yt video on it going in full depth on the game and how it works but i have to say the game is a masterpice, work of art
Do ya mean the side-by-side sawed off double barrel? If so, that's a rare drop and can be tricky to find. It can spawn in Pervomay, I've seen that before, but I'm not 100% sure about elsewhere. It's definitely the most rare of any item in the game, you could go an entire playthrough never seeing it.

You can one shot Spawn if you dual wield the knives. I like to crouch with both knives out and get them when they jump at me.

I believe I found it in a case, I have found another one as well but don’t remember exactly where. I believe it was just a random loot drop.

As a vet (or as close as you can be using a quest) the amount of face palms I had were crazy.
