I finally found this song after over 30 years , it use to be in a Movie from Ex Yugoslavia and it got stuck in my head ever since, can’t believe i would have the memories back at the end of the world south Cali.
@@Pollicina_db about Italian immigrant who came to US by boat back in the day! Comes to work and achieve “American Dream” but leaves his family behind.. tells his brother to write him and protect everything he loves back home. Something like that 😊
@@valyusha98 Well looks like you have it all covered sis, but the italian part is 50/50 because people from Dalmatia (Istra especially) borrow many italian words, so it could be just about a boy from our coast going to America. I’m curious, where did you even find this song?
@@Pollicina_db I listen to a lot of foreign music particularly ex-yu music so it came up in my recommended and I loved it! The language sounds beautiful
It is not about Italian man who went to America in search of American dream. It is about Croatian diaspora and people from Dalmatian coast who left for America. It is 99% simmilar story as Italians from Sicily who went to America, except for the mafia part. Croatian people never were organised in mafias as Italians were. That's why Sicilians are mentioned in the song, the singer says "we are as Sicilians", reffering to the similarity of leaving their home country to go to America and never coming back. Croatia has less than 4 million population in the country, although there is 1 million+ Croats and their descendants in USA. 1 million+ living in Latin America as well. They all left during the 20th century in search of a better life.
Kad sam bio mali slusao sam ovu pjesmu,ni sluteci da ce mi opisati jedan dio zivota🙁

Kom jebeno puca k brate
💔💔💔
Such a beautiful song. Been playing it all day today 😊 ♥️
