Dude! I'm a fellow DJ in St. Louis and just found your channel today - consider me a new sub! I DJ weddings most weekends; I've been a Pro DJ for just over 30 years now. Even with everything I know, I'm still learning and will be glad to sub to your channel. Thanks man! Great video here!

Never heard of someone using loops as you described, I'm sure it happens, but i believe the most common use for loops is mixing in or out for 4 bars or longer.

If i may, suggest. probably make a script of what you need to relay to your viewers. you can also add some texts to your video so you can emphasize what you are going to present. In my opinion, it kind feels like you're rambling about your point. Although i understand you telling us to use the Hardware effects, the software effects, and shy away from the loop function and down fader. Still, a video content can be a little better if you can change the views of your video. probably a camera angle of our Rev5 while you show us the paddle , or probably add a screenshot of Serato showing us the software. Things like that. Little things that matter to make your video a little better. oh..and, try saying "uhmm" " a lot lesser, which a script can really help eliminate. Just a little advise from a viewer. Im not a pro nor do i have a lot of subs, but just a little suggestion. Hope you can get this as constructive. keep up the good work.

At least show or let us hear an example of using loops as an echo.....?

That's true to what you say, but some DJs are getting a little lazy and OVERUSE the ECHO OUT on most of their transitions.

I can see that. I’ve missed it a few times with that loop. But it works if you time it on the One of the song coming in. But the Echo is easier with less multi motion movements.

What would be helpful is if you got some royalty-free beats and demonstrated the "loop" echo vs. the onboard effects styles. I appreciate your effort to create the content, but really have no grasp of what you were talking about. 🙂

If you actually listen, I am using a royalty free beat and I do demonstrate the difference between using a loop as an echo and using the echo effect via Serato but thx for the feedback 🙂

Honestly, from the title and the start of this video, I came into this thinking you were chatting nonsense. Loops can be extremely useful and, for many DJs, essential to their mixing. When I realised you were talking about using an echo out effect, I got what you were saying. As a REV-7 user, with inbuilt FX, the echo out is immensely better than any software effect I've heard so far...and you're right, utilising the correct effect is going to sound far better (although, not every DJ has the best FX available to them).
One of my friends, who I respect very much as a DJ, doesn't have a good Echo Out effect on his equipment, so he uses the regular echo and sets it up in such a way that he can flick it on and then quickly bring the channel fader down, creating an echo out effect. And he does it so well, I once asked him what he was using for the effect and was surprised when he said "just an echo". I guess the point is, learn to get the best out of what you have in front of you.
I agree with @RyanUybengkee regarding scripting your videos. It's good advice, but not presented in the best manner.
