What happened to Digital Juice???

- The company I work for has been using digital juice for years. It’s a great place to download animations (like moving backgrounds), aftereffects templates, stock footage, sound effects, graphic elements and a bunch of other very useful stuff for video post production. We had a lifetime membership and really loved using Digital Juice. Unfortunately, when I logged in and his morning, I got a message that the site is forever closed because the founder passed away. No doubt, I feel bad when anyone passes away. My condolences to the founder's friends and family for their loss. I’m also a little bummed out that, even with a lifetime membership, we can no longer get into the website and download assets. I’m sure when my boss purchased the lifetime membership, he thought that it meant we could access the site forever. I guess that’s not the case. I’m surprised that the passing of one person ended Digital Juice. Surely, it was a company with multiple employees (although I could be wrong)? If they had to close, it would have been nice if they let the current members use the site for at least a week or so, so we could download some additional assets to use. That would at least feel less abrupt and more fair (in my opinion). Those are the thoughts off the top of my head. What do you guys think about Digital Juice shutting down? Were you a lifetime member? Do you feel let down by the closing? I loved using Digital Juice and I will definitely miss it! Let me know how you feel in the comment section below this video. I am a longtime Digital Juice user (20 Years or so) and a Lifetime access member. I can understand discontinuing the service, what I can't understand is why they didn't give us a warning for at least a week to let us download all the content we need. I didn't keep everything I used because it was always accessible. Really a month of downloading should have happened. Someone should make a petition to give us temporary access.

Lifetime member here. Started with them around 2001 buying all of the Editor's Toolkits and such. That material was all SD and therefore useless now. Was a founder in the lifetime subscription program. More than a little disappointed in this turn of events. Like others, I don't understand why they had to just turn off the lights with no notice .. who am I kidding, of course I understand. The lifetime subscription folks were a drag on the operation so they had an opportunity to sell the lot and to hell with us.
Same situation with us.
This is bullsh*t. NO warning? There is some kind of legal battle. They are selling all of it off or will repackage, rename, and RESELL it. damn. This sucks so much.

I to a sorry of the lost of the founder. Prayer for the family. However I to agree we should be given an opportunity to download for at least a week of content before it's closed for good. The company should do a blast advertising of this opportunity in some way. I didn't download a lot of materials because I was so sure it would be there.
Yes also I am a Lifetime a member and is very sad what happen. WE Miss a Talent MAN and we miss a very good site. I hope Someone Open a Digital juice Site.

I'm sorry for the death of the founder, but I'm extremely disappointed and frankly pissed that there was absolutely no notice or warning the site was shutting down. Even if there was no new content updates, at least leave the store open with the existing content. Again I'm so sorry for the family loss, but this was extremely irresponsible from a business perspective!!
So disappointing. Is there anything that can be done? Can any former employee step in temporarily? Did all the business protected info die with David. Seems as though he may have taken all protected information to his grave. Nobody named as a successor perhaps?
I'm a life time member as well ..............We should be aloud to download as much as we can for a period of time, my condolences to the family but we paid for lifetime membership he has passed but his content and the work is still there. Let us lifetime members have access. or give us some of our money back.

I have been using Digital Juice for years! It's all very sad. I really wish we could access the files.
Digital Juice made some of the best gear cases. heavy, but solid. I also have several of their sand bags which are unmatched by anything I can find today.
AGREED W YOU. HOPING THE COMPANT WILL EVENTUALY GIVE THE LIFETIME MEMBERS A FEW DAYS TO USE WHAT WE WOULD NEED.
I was a life time member. I felt abandoned and disrespected when Digital Juice evaporated overnight. It was not necessary.
1st my condolences to the family on the passing of their loved one, and myself was a lifetime member Digital was the go to place for any project i was working on, however, and i don't mean no disrepect but can you imagine if Apple was to close down and stop making products after one of their founders pass away? again i dont mean no disrespect but I'm sure they had many capable people there to keep his dream alive, I'm just saying
Another "lifetime" member here. As has been said, sad news to hear of the passing of the founder but a grace period to at least download key material would have been a minimum to maintain some sort of customer relationship before complete closure. Contractually a bit questionable I'm afraid...
Very sad that the founder has passed away. May his soul rest in peace. We are life time members with the DJ and suddenly we have no more access to the site to download the contents. Please reopen the site and allow us to download.

I've been a DJ user since they started with PowerPoint templates, and I'm pretty ticked off over this. Glad I kept most of my physical copies of stuff from back in the day.
As terrible as it is that the owner passed away, the rest of the company has to know that you can't treat people like this. Something stinks about this whole situation. Perhaps it's time to consider a class action lawsuit.

That's to bad, I had a Lifetime member. I don't think they should of closed down the website!
I just tried logging in today and was shocked. I did however noticed a few months back that they had removed the community section of the website and thought that was strange. I started using Digital Juice in the early 2000s and got a lifetime subscription in 2015. Thankfully I downloaded a lot of music and graphics that I backed up and still have physical media assets. I guess lifetime subscription meant Hebel’s lifetime. My condolences to his family.
Hello. It is very sad to realize that such talented people are leaving. And even more so, it’s a pity that there is no longer access to the results of David Hebel’s many years of work. I also had a lifetime membership, and therefore some of the materials were preserved on physical media. There are both old and new Digital Juice products. I believe that we need to unite and help each other with the missing content, that is, share with each other. Do you mind if we exchange data about our Digital Juice collections? Agreed. Total BS and I am hugely disappointed by the lack of succession plan for a company that my company alone has poured tens of thousands of dollars into over two decades worth of time. Plus becoming a lifetime digital member once they transitioned to fully digital. What a horrible way to treat their customers! Karma paid in advance.
Received the gut punch today, not that DJ had the best content, but being a founding member it was always there. (Per the idea) Sadly this has a ripple effect, one that I do not look forward to navigating. Its also a black eye to cloud base businesses, while this may be an exception, its a lesson learned.
Wow, I can't believe it! As a longtime member, I just learned tonight that DG has closed its doors for good. It's a complete shocker. I've been a loyal user for more than a decade. 😮 Sadly, the owner passed away. Condolences to his family. 🙏
It would've been great if we had a heads-up to grab more stuff from their catalog before they suddenly shut down.
I have been using Digital Juice for 23 years and was one of the first people to sign up as a life-time member. I am also upset about the closing without a warning. What will happen to all the content that is just sitting? I had projects that needed to be completely reworked since I didn't download everything I was planning to use. I would love to know if another company will pick up the name and product. We can all hope.
I work in the education field and Digital Juice was an incredible asset to me for making engaging videos. I began using them in 2006 and was a lifetime member. I will miss Digital Juice.
Well, looks like the value of the physical medial DJ products just went up. Maybe I can get some of my money back from this shit company. Listen, I gave up on this company YEARS ago because of their shady business practices, so this really isn't a surprise.
I feel the same being a member since 2008, it is sad... and I agree it would have been nice to be given a chance to download our personal files online. I wouldn't be surprised after the founder died, either family members or business partners have new ideas moving forward.
I am a founding lifetime member. I suffered a life altering injury, so I didn’t know it had closed until recently. I wish there was a class action lawsuit so we can retrieve all of our list content. Something’s fishy, a HUGE corporation relying on one individual.

I am saddened by the founders loss, however, this is not the 1st company that has taken my money and closed its doors. It just makes me upset about web based company's and with so many companies charging to use it's assets I am so leary about annual subscriptions and such.
I am also a lifetime member. I think this whole thing need to be investigated. The lifetime membership holders came from lawyer customers of a lifetime

I found complete BackTraxx (Blue & Red) BackTraxx2 & 11 Epic Stacks, Stack Traxx, layered digital music in a dumpster last week 😮🤯👍 I never heard of it and LOVE IT! I'm 65 and clean offices for extra cash. WHAT A TREASURE!❤ Great for background while working also 😁. Thanks God bless & comfort family & friends.❤
Very unfortunate of course and my deepest condolences to family and friends. But now Boooom, nothing anymore. I paid a lot. Thank you and until I never see you again? I don't immediately see a reason to close the site.
I'm a member since 1999. I was so shocked when i saw that notice like you said this company was running by many people, So unfair to suddenly shut us down like that.

I'm sad with the passing away of the founder of Digital Juice, and yes I also purchased a life time membership, it would be very nice of the new ownership to leave Digital Juice network active even if their is no more update to the site allowing us to continue to access files and remembering the man that help us all to become a Content Creator.
Hope and prayers goes out to their family. I agree, my small church with its even smaller budget uses it for their graphics, Palm Sunday, Easter, Christmas…🙏🤦🏾♂️
Been a customer since 2005 and a Lifetime member on the subscription platform from its inception. While it is unfortunate for the founder's untimely demise and I offer sincerest sympathies to his family and colleagues, this, however, is totally unacceptable.
So what happens to the licensing agreement that came with everything we downloaded? Since they're closed now does that mean we all can start sharing the raw files now?

Have been a long time DJ customer. Bought many physical discs, subscribed to life time membership as well as their Busyboxx series. That was a shame that we didn't get advance notice before its closing.
I don't know what to do. I only subbed 2 years ago. Loved their music and stock videos mainly. What can I do now??
Envato Elements is my recommendation. I do the yearly subscription for $200 and it gives me unlimited downloads to their large library of images, videos, music, and more. I’ve had it for about 4 years now and I use it way more than I did Digital Juice during that same time period.

I know this comment is completely unrelated, but EKT was most likely streamed from Digital Juice, but it's pretty impossible to find it there, i guess...
So disappointing that they shut down abruptly with no warning. I have been a lifetime member for years paying an an additional $120/yr. So frustrating that there was no opportunity to at least download for a limited period.
Lifetime member here, who has used and purchased DJ assets and gear for decades. There would be no way DJ could open their servers for downloaders given any deadline. The servers would crash quickly, lines would bottleneck, and it would be a worse situation. The sad thing (besides the owners death) is that the company had no end game strategy in the event of the owners death. There must be more than meets the eye. Maybe bad business practices behind the scenes, bad money management, etc., something must explain why the business is stopped in its tracks. RIP DJ.
Lifetime member here. Really sorry to hear that Hebel died. Not surprised that it shut down the company though. I personally got my money's worth, and then some. Their prices were not sustainable. Couldn't figure out how they were able to keep the doors open. Now we know. I hope that this didn't contribute to Hebel's death. The pressure, I mean...
