Same. I just got the Jazzmaster and it actually a very solid guitar. The stock tuners are fine. The only issues I've run into were a creased B string making the 9th fret unplayable but easily fixed with new strings and then an extremely wooly sounding neck humbucker that was improved by lowering the bass side. All in all, it's an amazing guitar for $190.
Thanks for the video! I purchased a Mini Strat for my daughter for Christmas. I noticed right away the tuners are garbage. I have a set of Fender tuners that came of a Strat of mine from when I upgraded to lockers. Hopefully they are a fit and I can get them swapped out!
Thanks for doing this! Looking to do the same for my son's Mini. Would you need to adjust the neck, assuming you went from 9s to 10s in terms of string gage?
No there shouldn't be a need to do anything with the neck if you are going from 9s to 10s. Unless you start getting fret buzz or something with the different gauge.
Sorry there is no link. I went on facebook market place and bought them off someone. They must have upgraded their Squier (a full sized version) to Fender tuners or something. But yes the ones that come on the Squier Mini are very bad.
Just got a mini over weekend. It came with the upgraded tuners that are on full sized
That's good, the older ones have really bad tuners.

Same here, they started selling the minis with better tuners

They should work, but you might need to do some drilling.
The guitar stays in tune now though
@@DIYNorth Will be well worth it so I don't have to keep tuning it for her!

@@DIYNorth yes they are laughably bad, how is anyone supposed to learn properly with those piece of shit tuners is beyond me
The supplied tuners make the guitar feel more like a toy than a real instrument.
@@DIYNorth yes surely they can muster something a little more respectable quality wise, I understand it's a cheap guitar but god damn
Hi . Is the dg20 gilmour fit to it or it’s too big for this squier version
I'm not sure. I would assume that it would not fit on a squire mini.
