    Bill is the GOAT in my eyes, because everything he does from standup, talk shows, podcasts and interviews is always comedy gold. He has like 1,000 of his own podcast episodes that are all hilarious. There is SO much Bill Burr content out there, it really is a blessing.

      I saw him live and it was amazing. I'd suggest to anyone who wants to see him (or any comedian) live, see them at as small of a venue as you can possibly travel to. I saw Bill at MSG and I had to watch most of the show on the jumbo-tron, and I had decent tickets. The sound quality is also meant for music so it doesn't echo around the massive room the same for comedy.

      facts. Bill Burr is GOAT and its not even close. every comedian has their highs and eventually their lows. every other comedian ive seen isnt as good as they used to be. only burr is hilarious every moment of his career. hes so dam relatable. its so true hes the realist comedian. and hes a FREAKING GENIUS. im amazed of all the details that go into his bits. that cover everything.

Even if he insults one group, he comes right back, and insults the other side to even it out. How he can do his routine in todays cancel culture just shows you how masterful he is at his craft!

    Elvis ONLY gave shoutouts to his black predecessors and he wouldn't eat in restaurants or stay in hotels that his black backup singers weren't allowed to stay in. Calling Elvis a racist is just ridiculous.

    • @sunshynff
      @sunshynff 23 дні тому +10

      No one is calling him racist, I personally don't think he had a racist bone in his body, but he did appropriate a culture, he did allow fame and money to cloud his judgement so others could be racist on his behalf so he kept a clean conscious.
      Yes Elvis did give those shoutouts, and yes he put his foot down about his back up singers and where they were allowed, and yes he was often seen hanging out with Chuck Berry, BB King, and James Brown, but let me ask you this, when was it that Elvis did these things??
      See he played at black music festivals when he was a teen, with BB King, before he was famous, and the other stuff listed above, that all happened after 1974, you know when he finally fired The Colonel, when he was more popular that Jesus himself, and his career and reputation was in absolutely NO DANGER whatsoever of being tarnished, along with younger audiences being more excepting of black culture. So where was Elvis during the height of his popularity and relevance as an artist, you know the same exact time the civil rights movement was in full affect, when MLK was getting thrown in jail, when they were turning fire hoses on black people in the streets?? Where was Elvis's shout outs then, where was his propping up black culture, where was his song about poor people in the ghetto???
      Oh yeah, they were nowhere, because him and his manager were too afraid it my affect his career. That's what's called a fair weather friend, parading around doing good things for others only when you're absolutely sure it won't affect you negatively, does not impress me. If you have evidence of one time he gave any of those shout outs, or had black folks at all in his band, or played at black venues before 1974 and his Vegas years, I'd sure like to see it, because I've looked and looked and nothin!! The black community were the first people to appreciate Elvis as an artist, took him under their wing and gave the boy some shine, but as soon as that shine got brighter, he turned his back on them until it was safe again to turn back around, that's some BS right there.

    • @ChanceMahony
      @ChanceMahony 23 дні тому +1

      @@sunshynffim pretty sure if i can dream was about the assignations of mlk
      And I’m pretty sure you didn’t play live for large part of the civil rights movement he didn’t play live until the late 60s he was doing movies during that time and releasing the soundtracks as albums

    • @jeffreysmith236

      @@sunshynffhe didn't appropriate a culture, it was HIS culture, he grew up IN IT. He went to and sang in a Black church with his neighbors.

    • @sunshynff
      @sunshynff 21 день тому +2

      @@ChanceMahony ...OMG, you don't even know the facts on the side you're arguing for... "If I Can Dream" was written by Walter Earl Brown for Elvis, and it was a tribute to MLK, not "about his assassination". Yeah, over a dozen artists released songs honoring MLK, it was the thing to do as a popular musician at the time, and it was perfect timing for Elvis's comeback album and tour. The Colonel literally told Elvis, you can do the song but only because it'll help sell the comeback tour. Would Elvis had done it without permission, why did he only perform it to promote that tour, and never again??
      And I'm pretty sure I wasn't alive to play live in the 60's. If you meant "he didn't play live", then I would ask, what does him performing live or making movies instead, have ANYTHING to do with my point, which was he turned his back on the black community for quite some time, including during the civil rights movement, he could have supported them no matter what he had going on in his career.

    • @sunshynff
      @sunshynff 21 день тому

      @@jeffreysmith236 😂🤣😂 ... Oh, I see, now it was his culture huh? You don't even have a clue what culture is, do ya?? Especially a culture that is created from a permanent underclass lasting centuries. I hate to break it to ya, but being poor whites that have to live in a black community because all poor people are lumped together in some areas, and black communities are always poorer by default, does not make black culture the white peoples culture magically overnight. Black culture comes from hundreds and hundreds of years living as slaves, oppression, unfair treatment, suffering, and a myriad of other things, that take generations to develop.
      Elvis himself has literally said, he wouldn't have the style and swagger he had if he hadn't learned if from people like BB King, and going to black church, and playing at black music jamboree's in his youth. Did you not even bother reading my other comment before snappin' back at me?? I know where he grew up and who he hung out with...DUH!! See, when you get famous and rich from doing exactly what he learned from them, without ever "remembering where you came from" or don't pay it back, like promoting some black folks from his old neighborhood, or support civil rights or any of that for years and years, until you're washed up and your career isn't at risk anymore, then that's appropriating, how do you not get that!!??

    Ya Elvis is controversial. What I would say is that he's a product of his generation. If people weren't racist as hell back then, black stars likely would have been more popular in the day, which is probably why Elvis was so controversial, he got all the credit other black stars were just as talented could have been. Today I think a lot of black artists do much better than in the 50s-70s although some cross overs just don't work at all. Its just strange how music got so boxed into this culture or that culture at all, but thats culture I guess.

    I think Elvis did give credit to black people, he hung out their neighbourhood a lot.
    Hell he spend his childhood in black neighbourhood and his biggest idols were black.

    • @sunshynff
      @sunshynff 23 дні тому

      Nope, sorry, he grew up poor, living in a almost all black neighborhood, that's not the same as "hanging out there" and he only gave credit to them when there was no chance it would hurt his career.

      @@janc5121... OMG, you apologists are all the same, "go do proper research", pa-leez, you wouldn't know what proper research was if it kissed ya on the lips, I've forgotten more about Elvis than you've ever learned. Research analysis was my career, and Elvis was the 2nd most written about and reported on non president ever in America.
      Not to mention if you're such a bang up researcher, you couldn't have bothered to look one or two comments above or below this one, where I explain in detail why you are categorically wrong. You're so caught up in your bubble of infatuation your judgement is clouded, I'm not asking you to stop admiring Elvis and his music, I'm asking you to stop lying to yourself and denying reality. If you're so confident in what u say, put your money where your mouth is. Doesn't have to be money either, you name the stakes, doesn't matter cause I can prove my claim, you can not prove yours, period.

      @@janc5121 ....Oh please with the "proper research", you Elvis apologists love to say that. I used to do research analysis for a living, not to mention Elvis is like the 2nd most reported on and written about person ever in America other than U.S. presidents, it's not difficult to find the truth. I've probably forgotten more about Elvis than you've ever learned about him. You need to step out of you bubble of infatuation and face reality, it doesn't mean you can't still admire him and his music, just stop lying to yourself he was some perfect untouchable person.
      Let me ask you this, can you tell me when Elvis gave this credit?? Can you tell me when he did things to support the black community, I mean you said there was many, so it should be easy for you to come up with an example. See, the thing is, he did give some credit and support to the black community, but not until after he fired The Colonel in 1974, you know when Elvis was more popular than Jesus, and his reputation and career were in absolutely NO danger of being tarnished or people not hiring him. Where was Elvis at the height of his popularity though, in the late 50s and all through the 60s, you know during this thing called the civil rights movement, which I'm pretty sure involved "the black community". Where was Elvis when MLK was getting arrested and black folks were being attacked in the streets with fire hoses?? Where was Elvis's song about the ghetto?? Do you know how much it would have helped move the needle for the civil rights movement if the most popular musician in the world would have even given the tiniest hint of support or a shout out to their cause?? Nope, not a peep from Elvis, it might hurt his image right? You can blame it on The Colonel too, I don't think Elvis had a racist bone in his body, but he let The Colonel be racist for him, so he don't get a pass there.
      Listen, black musicians like BB King and the black community took Elvis under their wing as a teen, and he was the only white boy to play black summer jamboree festivals, they gave Elvis his first shine as an artist, and they loved him, but when that shine got too bright, Elvis turned his back on the black community, while using their style and their music, got rich and famous and became king of it, and never lifted a finger for the black community until he was older and almost washed up, and it was safe to like and support black folks. How very convenient for Elvis. If you have one shred of evidence or a link proving that he supported the black community or sang their praises before 1974, then post it, otherwise you owe me an apology, or need to STFU.

    The flying part at the end was hilarious! It's also a valid point. Everyone is so worried about their "culture" and what their race invented. Um, the Wright brothers? Yeah, but if white people don't let everyone "steal their culture", we're called racist. 😂😂😂

    This current version of the Great Burr Family Elvis Debate as seen on YT, for some reason, always cuts off the bit at the moment when Bill's wife says to Bill how farrrrrrgued up his comment was regarding the under-6-hour North American transcontinental flight in question.
    But if you want the actual full-circle punchline of all punchlines to this particular individual Elvis bit, then you likely might very well have to go to some other URL than that of YT, in order to pick up the rest of the Elvis bit.
    It's from Bill Burr's 2019 comedy special "Paper Tiger", which I believe can be found in its entirety on the URL of the website AKA [synonymously so speaking, if you will] "Quotidian Progression"; this particular individual website platform also hosts videos of content-creative provenance, albeit to an arguably lesser overall degree than YT.
    Actually, however, come to think of it;
    The only YT video that has the entire Elvis documentary, punchline also included, is a reaction video; but I think it is well worth watching, nonetheless:
    [cf. "BILLBURR: Paper Tiger Part 4 (Documentary) - Reaction!"
