I'm really against the notion that good steak "ideally" needs no sauces. If they are selling a product of two things served together, why not enjoy them together? That would be like refusing gravy because good mashed potatoes should stand on their own. You're not wrong, each part should be good, but if the sum of parts is what's being sold, I don't think judging the sum is a bad mindset either. Just my opinion though.

Apparently in the sale to the new owner keens needs to stay untouched in the style of cuisine and the business style. It was the deal that was made and I hope that nothing changes. It's my #1 steakhouse in the country. A few other NYC steakhouses follow behind. NYC is #1 in the country for steakhouses.
Porterhouse is half filet(filet mignon) and half short loin.. NY Strip is the short loin... NY Strip is actually a rather tough cut of meat compared to the Filet and rib portions.
NY Strip is an excellent cut though imo. The problem with porterhouse is that a filet and strip don’t tend to cook together to perfection. One or the other tend to be overdone/underdone.

If you get low grade Strip and cook it, it wont be good at all, on the other hand, a ribeye or filet can still be good from a low grade cow. For me, on the cuts the qualify for steaks, its on the lower end. I actually prefer skirt and hanger steaks. BUT, when the grade of the cow is higher, and there is marbling NY strip transforms.
Would love for you to try Asador Bastian, someone on reddit said it's mind-blowing, and they said this: 'I’d say the Lobster and Foie Gras and bone marrow potatoes are an absolute must with the steak." It's in Chicago and is no.14 on World's Best Steaks.

The algo loves very long videos so why don’t you make a 2 hour long top 10 of NY steakhouses and just do some additional narration as an intro, between each segment and then the outro. Bet you get 200k views on a 2 hour long video, which will be $$$$
At nearly $30 for 3 tacos/quesadillas, I was wincing in vicarious financial pain, thinking “better you than me”. But after watching your delight I started thinking, “I wish it was me instead of you”. 😂
one way you could grow the channel is to start trying cocktails and showing off spirits these finer bars have, talk with the bartenders etc... people will watch
The individual numbers in those rankings are generally nonsense to a point. I mean to be on that list means you're a fantastic steakhouse...the difference between 20 and 45 is completely subjective, might as well flip a coin. I'm a big fan of Beefbar, I love the concept and it's definitely a vibe at the ones we've been to. Are the steaks better than a Keens? No they definitely aren't, but that's totally ok because the steaks (and food in general) are excellent for the type of restaurant it is, which is a scene-y global hotspot restaurant (like a COYA, Zuma, Amazonico, etc) that just happens to be a really good steakhouse.
What was he supposed to use? His foot? He’s grating the salted dried beef over the top. If he wears a glove, there’s a chance he can by mistake grate the plastic into your food. You wouldn’t want that?!? Not wearing a glove is not as scary as you Americans make it out to be

Bothers me when fancy steakhouses demanding hight prices, cant even season their steak properly prior to cook..as they re maybe being cautious for some ppl..but what cause a small % of ppl cant held proper amount of salt on steaks, we all therefore suffer?
