It was truly epic match, I think that day Macedonia was better and should have won that, but however it's sport and it was regular victory for Denmark, this was one of the moments that made Denmark champions! Also Lazarov and Hansen are both great players...

This is probably one of the very best matches on any championship I've ever watched! Heart stopping moments! Only few seconds till the final whistle, Macedonia has the ball and the attack, and the screw it up, Denmark performs lightening counterattack and scores (literally) in the last second and wins the match! Afterwards, the won the championship! Fuckin' Hell!
Does that mean that if they won this match (as they easily could have), they could have become champions, just as Denmark became?!
Maybe...But personally I don't think so...Even when they're at their best, something prevents them to get to the top, 3rd place at best! That happened in basketball, a few years back!
Yes, I watched them today and yesterday against Spain. They were really poor against Slovenia, but they were much better against Spain, and one could even say that the judges helped Spain to win that one. And when it comes to the match against Iceland, they made mistakes at the end again, and missed a win. But it was obvious that they were satisfied with the draw, they were exhausted with the match against Spain! We'll see what happens! But surely, it'd be great if we see them against Denmark again, in another match like the one in the video, which was truly epic!

Lazarov had a better tournament, Mikkel played much better in the world cup in 2011, players have ups and downs like that. What goes to show that Mikkel is the best player at the moment is that even when he has a bad day, he is still better than 95% of other proplayers.

The Danish defence that Lazarov had to play against was probably the best in the tournament. Hansen team mates in attack are MUCH better than Lazarov team mates. It is easy to play in a strong team. EHF CL statistics:

I agree is not enough. Lazarov is 2 times best scorer in EHF CL (2006,2008), World record on WC 2009.World record on EC 2012. This year is 3rd goal scorer in EHF CL :) With his team won the Royal Cup of Spain this year, he was a player of the match!;) If some player have good shape in continuity that is Kiril Lazarov. If for EHF some players are there "pets", for me they are not!
@TeslaShambles i agree,but lazarov did not played in 2011 so we can't compare there.....in serbia hansen and lazarov shared 2pace in assists but lazarov got 10+ goals in a match less then hansen.in finishing we both agree lazarov is better (in serbia),about playmaking i will just tell you that macedonian play is about lazarov,he is alpha and omega in the squad,in other hand denmark's coach has at least two good substitutes for hansen (if something happens to him),

Not to mention the 11 goals in the PSG vs Montpelier game. Despite being solo-covered for 20 minutes and not playing the last 10 minutes. In10forever, is nothing short of an idiot. Laen over Rene Toft I can understand, Toft has not been in form. He rates Laen over Knudsen cause he watched a lot of fuchse matches cause Alex Petterson was a great source of icelandic pride for him. If he watched some Flensburg matches, he would see what a great player Knudsen is.
Well, Hansen scored more goals than Jicha in CL, especially if you discount the goals Jicha got from penalties. Jicha also had far better setups for shots than Hansen, the teamwork between Andersson and Jicha was something special. I would also argue that Hansen has a better overview of players and so is a better assister, he brings the best out in a whole team, like Andersson. Jicha is a better defender than Hansen and has fewer meltdowns, but he is also 6 years older than Hansen.
For me is Jicha better than Hansen. Hansen had a good year, but I think Jicha is better. However, I must say, that I normal only look the German Handball League (cause I´m from Germany), the Champions League (and normal just if THW Kiel plays) and the European/World Championships. Short: I saw Jicha a lot more than Hansen.
And there is no way, that Lazarov is the best right back player. He has not any skill in defense. Andersson is clear better - he also gives more assist. Same with Zeitz.
That because Kim Andersson knows when to pass and when to shoot, Kiel has already lost points in the Bundesliga since they lost him. Kim can function in a collective, Kiril can't in the same way. Not to mention Kiril was not carrying Atletico Madrid, their defensive was. In my opinion Kim is the second best right back of all time, only surpassed by Olafur Stefansson(when he was younger).
Kiril is too selfish with his low scoring percentage. Also, he is not as good a passer as Kim Anderson(in my opinion worlds best right back - Kiel has been much weaker since he left.) and Mikkel Hansen(watch Paris vs Montpellier). Both pass to players on all positions and with artistry. Christian Zeits is definitely a quality player, a bit one-dimensional but he has some skills, especially his low shot is extremely effective.
That was one bad game. Let us look over longer time periods.Over the whole tournament Hansen scored 1 more goal, despite shooting no penalties. Lazarov got 32 goals from penalties. So in reality Hansen scored 33 more goals than Lazarov. At european championship Lazarov had a scoring percentage of 40% on normal shots(non penalties), whereas Hansen had 55%. Hansen can also play defense, which Lazarov can't. So who is the better player ?
Kiril Lazarov was best at the Euro 2012, no doubt. But as for the goal scoring, Kiril Lazarov shoots penalties, that adds about 3 goals to his goalscore every match. Despite this, Mikkel Hansen is still ahead of him in CL in terms of goals. Mikkel Hansen is the only player in top 5 of goalscorers who is not a penalty shooter. He also plays defense, unlike Lazarov, and he is a superior passer.
@1987Makedonec - Stoilov I could see deserve it, but I'm not sure he is a better defender than Toft Hansen. Toft Hansen will move to Kiel from AGK this summer, he is among the worlds best at his position. Also, watch the match against Spain, Toft Hansen was a defining player in beating undefeated Spain. But your argument falls to the ground, Look at Jicha, he never won Euro or world cup. Yet best player of the year 2010 and Mikkel Hansen now best player of 2011. Where is Kiril ?
@pastirot Mikkel Hansen played vastly better in 2011 than he did this year, he said this himself, others have mentioned it etc. No other Danish player can replace Hansen, the substitutes for him are lackluster. However it is true that the quality of the overall team of Denmark is stronger than Macedonia. Hell, they were still recovering from 2 defeats when they beat Macedonia and they first really played better against germany and sweden.
I feel sorry for this little balkan countries. They offer nothing to the world, few individual sportsman, but that's where it ends. They are part of Europe geographically, but they mentally few hundred years behind the rest of the Europe. Slovenia is the only one that seems to have escaped into the civilization, but the rest are so behind. Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria, they used to say "when we were Yugoslavia" - still unimportant and irrelevant, only show-offs!
We ALL see how Denmark beat Macedonia....Denmark have really good squad but they where really lucky that game.Kiril Lazarov score 61 goal and he didn't took place in the best 7 players on tournament...We all watch that tournament....So if Kiril Lazarov was a member of some other country like Denmark.Sweden,Germany,France or some other big country he would won a place in top 7 players,and he will be a GOD in handball but he isn't.He is the best scorer on World and European Championships EVER...

At the World Championsship 2011 Mikkel Hansen were the best player with Karabatic. At this Euro, Hansen hasn't reached the same level but, then he has made his teamates much better with assists and the press he puts on the opponents defense.
Lazarov have shown in this tournament that he is by far the best right back in the world, offensive. Maybe he doesn't defend, but when he scores over 60 goals, then it doesn't really matter
Kiril isn't a bigger goal monster, he has a much lower scoring percentage on normal shots than Andersson. Difference is, Kiril shoots penalties and he is allowed to take as many chances as he wants for the Macedonian team. The most effective player in the Bundesliga in terms of goals per attempts is Anders Eggert, with 87% last year, while being 4th most scoring player.
Hanson is a great player no doubt about it, however take him out of the Denmark team and they will still do good, but if you take Lazarov out of the MKD team, hm, how far can they go? I think Lazarov has handball intelligence, he not only that he scores but his assist rate is high. So, two great players, and Hansen just happened to have better teammates around him.
@1987Makedonec And to further note why defense is so important in handball, why exactly do you think Karabatic and not Lazarov was considered best in Lazarovs so called golden years(which he is still in, hes not playing worse than 3 years ago, if you want to see old players check Lars Christiansen or Olafur) ? Cause Karabatic is far more versatile.

Karabatic is one of the two best players in the world with Hansen as the other! Difference is that Karabatic is also one of the best defenders in the world. Hansen is thogh the best shooter in the world.. ;)

In my opinion, Lazarov is not even among the 2 best on his position. I think both Kim Andersson and Lazlo Nagy are better. That being said, I know his importance for the macedonian team. But if he had been from Argentina for example, you wouldn't have considered him the best.

sry to disappoint you but lazarov is a lot better than hansen the luck in that game was of course on dennmark's side but if the macedonians have gotten to the finnals lazarov would have about 70-75 goals not 61. The macedonian's will return and win the next match against dennmark!

You look just attack. The most important thing in handball is defence! And Lazarov doesn't play defence very well! So my opinion is that is Hansen better than Kiril and both are in group of best players in the world ;) and sorry for my English.

I Think Mikkel Hansen is Best coz he score just as many goals as Lazarov and he's way better in the defence, and many off Lazarovs goals is from penalty. None of Mikkels goals is on penalty. Sorry for my bad english!
I think you'll find that Mikkel Hansen has quit a few more assists than Kiril Lazarov. And, if you try and compare their shoting technic (both have fucking awsome shots) Mikkel Hansen has the far more complex technic.

Mikkel scored 11 goals for paris against montpellier, despite not playing a lot of defensive, so no contra goals, he also did not play in offense the last 10 minutes. Yet he ended topscorer. Mikkel was used for normal attacks when they needed to build up their offensive. His presence alone makes the whole team dangerous. He has now also mastered the volley pass as could be seen in the montpellier match.
Mikkel Hansen played better in 2011, but still did well. Everybody seems to focus on offense, but you also have to take defense into consideration.

Hvis ikke synes jeg at det skal være Bo Spellerberg som playmaker og Mikkel på venstre bak. Men ja Mølgård er helt klart interesseant også som playmaker. han spiller sgu godt.
