IP54 is not suitable for an edc light unless you're ok with frying it if you drop it in a puddle. Make it IP68, give it a removable battery (it's only 1500 mah, so don't say it can't be done) and give it a 1-lumen mode. THEN, you've got a really good edc light, IMO.
Agreed, IPx4 isn’t sufficient for an EDC light. Looking at how this light is made, I see why waterproofing it is such a challenge. The two split-half shells would make waterproofing / sealing pretty difficult to do.
That would be a perfect edc light, if only completely sealing a sandwich-type design body weren't a challenge (unless they use waterproof coating on the internals--but still, not as water/dust tight as a cylindrical design flashlight). But I hope Nitecore finds a way to do it on these slim flashlights.
I like my edc 25..... great demonstration of the ui btw! was confused how instant strobe/turbo worked vs my 25. Though you missed showing that you can set the brightness before turning it on(i think?)Love how they weren't afraid to instantly make the 27/25 obsolete by releasing this.
@@NitecoreStore oh that’s bad. Sadly no EDC23 for me then, no 29 either, its way to big. Would’ve been the perfect flashlight but that ruins it imo, gonna buy some other brand or wait until the EDC 23 gets an update.
Can the USB-C Port also bei used to charge a phone? Would be great If this EDC would also bei the powerbank. Sadly only IP54. IP67 or 68 would be better.
@@NitecoreStore interesting, I found the listing on Amazon. I thought I read somewhere recently that this aftermarket clip isn’t compatible with the EDC29/23, because the outer housing around the holes where the clip attaches is different.
All EDC series models (23, 25, 27, and 29) have glass lens. Only the first generation of the EDC27 featured a TIR lens, which was upgraded to glass in early 2024.
Nitecore's use of the 'new' LEDs gives a weird beam. I get that it's kind of a mix between flood/spot, but it looks as if voids are left and some areas totally blacked out.
This is my biggest reason for avoiding this one. The beam/light itself. To many voids. A hot spot, then void ring, then flood. Not for me. Other than that, pretty neat form factor. Off I go still looking for my first flat light.
@@mrgauth I have noticed it in some vids of the EDC29, which I was a bit interested in. Also not digging the seemingly warmer tint on lower levels. I know this vid is discussing the 23, but seems to be a similar effect in this type they are cranking out in various sizes.
let me dislike this overeacting video to a not so good new edc u people need to find another way to present new light coz we all know our flashlights this is 6 rated out of 10 top and just coz its short thats all and the difference is not that big any way the new edc29 is far superior period

IP68 for EDC series, please!!!!
If this had a
I ordered one today
As usual your review is informative and always thorough, You really do deserve credit for your excellent reviews. 🤗👍🏻🙏🤩
Is there a way to put the Turbo to full press instead of having a strobe like the EDC 25?
Not on EDC23. The EDC29 lets you customize this function to either Strobe or Turbo.

Love this ❤❤❤❤❤🔦💪❤great brand ,great produt's ,👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🦆🇪🇦🔦.
I love my edc29, but I think I'm going to get this one also
Wow! The best ever! ❤

no. The USB-C port is for charging only.
Will there be a deep pocket clip available?
That would be awesome. Would also love a bidirectional clip so it could be clipped onto a hat for an ad-hoc headlamp.
There is a third-party deep carry pocket clip for EDC25/27 on Amazon. It should also be compatible with EDC23.

I like the EDC 23, I will probably purchase one. However, I wish it had the look of the EDC 29.
is the lens made of glass with ar-coating or plastic? i cant find in the specs,.. thank you !!

What is the case made of? 🤔
I really hope Titanium? 🙏🏻
Doesn't really matter--when it's IP54 you can fry it in the rain 😢
@ It matters. Aluminum and steel are badly scratched. Only Titanium is durable
The power button needs to be covered, once it drops while the power button faces down, it will malfunction. Already happened to my EDC27.
Sorry to hear about that. Contact us if you purchased it from nitecorestore.com. We will fix or replace the unit for you.

Apparently, most flashlight reviewers chew their fingernails!
2way deep carry pocket clip for edc series please
fix the clip in these models. it’s way too tight to open up to slip in a pocket without stressing normal, non-heavy duty fabric.
can you guys PLEASE allow the user to disable strobe mode for these lights, its the only reason im not buying one
The EDC25 and EDC29 allow you to switch out the strobe mode. Give it a try!
@NitecoreStore but why not this one?

Its a different size. Don't think its comparable to the edc29. Whats your problem?
The word "button" actually has two Ts in the middle. *Stop saying Buhh-in*
Bro, you must be absolutely miserable
