Leveraging Small Language Models to Enable Offline Learning and Access to Educational Resources
How can we improve education accessibility in India through the integration of on-device AI?
Building upon Sugata Mitra's pioneering "The Hole in the Wall" project, this demo addressed the challenges of limited internet access and high data costs by developing an Android app featuring small language models. This will supplement general Q&A, coding assistance, and translation, without dependence on costly cloud GPUs or active internet connections.
Furthermore, the app will incorporate on-device modalities such as Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech, with potential future extensions for image generation. Witness the educational resources can be universally accessible and available, empowering users across diverse socioeconomic landscapes.
